Arter | Istanbul Museum (Part 2)

Hi, friends! Today I want to continue my story about the Arter Museum of Contemporary Art, which is located in Istanbul, Turkey. In the first part of this article I talked about the location and the way to the museum, ticket prices and how to start the exhibition and, of course, about the exhibition itself. In the second part I will continue the tour of the exhibition and leave my comments on the exhibits that made me very emotional. Let's get started!

When moving from the fourth floor to the third floor, we were met by a huge wide staircase that led to a new level of art... This abstract painting several meters long was quite confusing to me. From afar I could see stony ground mixed with the foamy waves of the sea. But when I came up closer, I saw nothing but the texture of convex strokes. And this cube in the painting seemed to me a foreign object in the whole composition. Only its shadow united the painting itself and this random cube into something united.

I want to tell you about one of my favorite objects at this exhibition. I love minimalism and practicality*, and when these two features are combined into one whole, it is a masterpiece for me. I like unusual interior items that carry not only practical meaning, but also mental meaning. I want to stare at such objects for hours and enjoy the art. And so it happened here, with a seemingly ordinary chair and a rectangular cushion. It's in this cushion that the intellectual attribute fears. It's all about the details. The cushion has an unobtrusive caption 'PLEASE LEAVE BY 9', which immediately lets us know that the place for this cushion is in a hotel. And in combination with this stunning lamp, even this modest chair begins to perform with new bright colors. Look at this beautiful design! In the modern world it will surprise nobody, because anyone can make such a sculpture with his hands and gypsum, but I will surprise you by saying that this lamp was made in 1986! Nobody even knew about ready-made kits with silicone and gypsum back then, and most likely this lamp were hand-made.

Also, one of the exhibits I liked looked like a vitrine in a store. These are popular Turkish products such as: white soap smelling like lavender, pain killers, cookies, tomato paste, ketchup, salt, milk chocolate. It was incredibly interesting for me to see all these embroidered pieces, it all looked very realistic. I think felt and sewing threads were used to make it. The most important thing is the details.

I don't think words are needed here :)

After, a room full of different paintings was waiting for us. As I said before, modern art, for some reason, loves nude bodies. If you dig into it, of course, you can find the reason, but that's not what I'm talking about now. What really amazes me is the imagination of the creators and how such ideas come into their minds. And yes, these are not photographs, but real painted artworks. There is no one single theme here, everything is so chaotic and diverse that you can't believe that these pictures can stay side by side.

Amazingly realistic head. You could see every wrinkle and every hairline. And the eyes seemed to look right into yours.

Just look at these paintings, don't look for a meaning here.

Also here, just trust your perception.

It's an interesting collage, isn't it?

It's an unusual solution.

Just a shark in a cut.

Friends, I hope you enjoyed the second part of the extraordinary Arter Museum story. And though there are a lot of obscure exponents and paintings here, but nevertheless, the mind relaxes and inspiration appears. I really like exhibitions and try to visit such places as often as possible. Friends, I will definitely post the third part about this museum and write the final words. I am interested to know your opinion, write your comments, I will definitely read and answer you! See you soon!
