Beautiful lake in Spain

in Photography Lovers4 years ago

Yesterday I went to visit my grandmother and took some pictures of the amazing Banyoles Lake. I hope you like them.
The water was really clean and completely transparent. I also enjoyed watching the ducks.

Such a beautiful lake thanks for sharing with us

Have a great day

Yes. And it is not just/only beautiful, but large, and it also has a legend about a monster.

Banyoles, in the province of Gerona, is the largest lake in Spain and in the Iberian Peninsula, at the foot of the Catalan Pyrenees.

I am not from Spain, but I read about this place, and the interesting thing about Banyoles is that, as in the case of the famous Loch Ness in Scotland, there is also a legend in this case about a supposed monster that inhabits the bottom of the Banyoles.

It is said to have been first spotted by Charlemagne twelve centuries ago while exploring the area during his stay in Girona. To end the beast, he enlisted the help of Saint Emeterio, a French monk, who managed to hypnotise the dragon with his prayers and supplications, 'persuading' it to return to the bottom of the lake, and never disturb people's lives again.

Perhaps that is why no one has ever seen the monster again, but if anyone is curious and want to investigate on their own, it would be worth a visit to this beautiful lake.

Thanks for the info such interesting history and legends there

Wow that is a truly gorgeous lake isn't it.
And you're right- the water is so clear. Do you know if it is that clear all of the time, or just since the entire world has been in lockdown for so long...

I think it is always clean. The lake is in a small city.

What is the city called?
My friend @nexus22 might know it.

Udaipur and thanx for support me

That is NOT good.Sorry buddy but you've just hijacked @ojamajo post.

I'm NOT impressed and I'm sure many other people won't be either.

I strongly suggest that you apologise to @ojamajo for hijacking her post and giving people the wrong information- we are talking about a lake in Spain NOT your lake in India- as nice as it looks.

How did you even do this? respond to your post in her comment thread.

No bro i dont hijake any post

Cheak again and upvote my post bro

The city is called Banyoles, like the lake.

Very nice! What is that structure in the first picture?

I have found some information here. These are pesqueres (fisheries), built to store fishing equipment.
