A chopper on the beat.

I heard the familiar chop-chop sound and managed to find the cause.

A helicopter appeared far off on a mountain face.

As I told you before, that the helicopter's design was based on a dragonfly, but of course a helicopter's flying abilities are limited compared to a dragonfly's flying actions. Another difference is that a dragonfly makes no noise in its flight as it glides along effortlessly.
The adoption of nature with mankind's designs has always fascinated me. From a feather to a pen, and from a thorn to a needle, and endless other adoptions. We carry nature's minerals in our phones, and we turn sunrays into electricity. Just some quick examples, as there are many others.

We were sitting at a water feature with some mountain peaks in the background and I saw this Emperor dragonfly flying around all over. So, I focussed my camera on the mountain peaks and waited until I got this shot below.

Back to the helicopter and it made a steady progress across the mountains.

Lovely to see it so close to the mountains.

But hey, then it turned, and it came flying our way.
071.JPG

Closer and closer it came, and my camera was very happy.

A last-minute swerve, and I got it side-on.

I managed to get a final shot before it crossed behind a clump of high trees.

So, the next time that you go out into nature, do me a favor and thank mother nature for everything that she teaches us.

I have another scoop developing here now, as we found a swallowtail caterpillar on a leaf of our lemon tree. I am taking photos of its development progress every day, and hopefully after all of its developing stages completed, I hope to get the birth of a butterfly to show you. I think that it's now in the last stage before spinning into a pupa, and I will show it all to you.
We just hope that it does not go into hiding before the spinning stage, as it will not be pleasant to search for it amongst all of the thorns.
Let's hope.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

That's really amazing, in my case, I am afraid of taking an image of low flying helicopter here in the Philippines. Since, most of them are own by a politicians, military and the government agency which is in real life, these entity are not friendly. Taking photo of them flying low might endanger your life with there guns and goons.

Wow, I don't blame you for not taking photos of them and it's wise to rather stay safe. Fortunately in our country there are many private helicopters taking visitors on tour.

You know, I never thought of the fact a helicopter was designed based on a dragonfly! It is all obvious to me now and I am just thinking how few of them I see these days. Around here, we have these fast ORNGE ones that are used for emergency hospital transfers and they even sound different.

Looking forward to to the transformation of that butterfly!

An amazing fact my friend. We have plenty here and yes, also some that responds to emergency situations, medical emergencies, firefighting,

Oh yeah, it is indeed a fact. As for the helicopters here, we have many of all colors and shapes that take tourists on sight seeing drives. Then we also have the brave staff, that responds to medical emergencies, others to firefighting battles, and so on.

It is a first for us to see it in caterpillar and now starting to spin into pupa stage. We cannot wait to see how the butterfly starts to develop in its cocoon. Still maybe 2-3 weeks. In the meantime, I take photos of it every day.
