So sorry fellas, but there will be no net practice or sports for a while.
As usual, I want to wish everyone a happy Friday, and a great weekend.
Birds, dogs and a horse in the sky, yep, I have it all in here.
Wet all over, but the birds and the animals show us how to cope in all situations. The egrets know that the new water dam will force worms and insects to the surface and it's a happy bonus for them. So, all that they need to do is to walk around and catch them. Sheer manna from heaven for them. The dog did what dogs do, as he must have spotted a rodent hiding from the wet under a bush and then we had a big horse flying across the sky. All nice ingredients for a super story.
Not that the birds would mind, as nature gave the egrets a new feeding spot.
So, after the egrets I saw that bush move and waited to see what it was.
Hello, look at that face.
And then the dog was on his way.
Like I said, it was wet and slippery all over, but I thought that you would like this view of the mountains.

And so, another wet day passed by, and the news is that the wet days will not stop until Monday next week for a short break. Then yet another cold front will arrive, and in the meantime, I grab every opportunity to get out. Thankfully, there are no people around and I am typing this now while it is raining outside. The nights are very cold, and it is a struggle in bed to stay warm and so we only have intermittent sleep, as the drumming of the large raindrops on the roof also sound like a band that's gone bonkers. But we are not complaining as we have gotten used to it.
Such is life.

I love the weather before and after a storm, because then the clouds look so cool and dramatic like in your photos, Zac 👍
Here it's hot and a massive storm is approaching us, but you know that our worst weather is never as bad as yours, or at least the damages are not that bad when I compare it with South Africa.

That smell of the wet earth is what gets me every time, and yes, the freshness is out of this world. The clouds also keep me very happy 😲
About time that you get a big storm, as it will break the heat methinks. The reason for our bad storms is that we are on the extreme tip of the African continents, and the wild Atlantic Ocean is on our doorstep. So, the winds from the wide ocean side have no obstructions and they hit us at full force. You guys are lucky, as there are many mountains that can block the low winds 😉
It will rain for the whole day tomorrow, and on Sunday the latest installment of the cold front series will arrive. So, it's going to be a rough weekend, and I hope that I can get some good photos my friend 😊

the storm wasn't that bad, at least no there in our town, but in the east and in the north there were floodings, and two of our police cars thought they were motor boats and went swimming 😂 !LOLZ
Our mountains are certainly a big bonus, but too much rain leads to landslides and floods.
I haven't been online in the past days apart from quick views on the phone, and I didn't have any time at work today, so I hope the weekend weather wasn't too bad down there, and you could get out for some photos 👍

Oh yeah, I thought as much and I am surprised to see that you had some floods. Maybe some of your police cars should be appointed as life savers (car savers), so that they can rescue the other cars. I mean if humans can do it, then cars can also do it 😜!LOLZ
Mountain water always cause floods my friend. During heavy rain, even high hills can cause floods 😉
You do indeed work very hard my friend, and I understand that you don't have time for anything else. Rain or not, I got out to take photos every day. In the meantime, all of the records were broken by the damages here, and some places were declared as disaster areas. Today was our first day of no rain 😲

You're so much better than me, my friend, I would have enough time after work and on the weekends, but most times I'm just too tired to do anything. Maybe my body and brain are slowly switching to pensioner mode 😉

My camera got wet this morning, but I was able to hide behind it 🤪maybe they must give you the job to teach the cars, as it will be easier than to teach your new colleagues 😉 !LOLZ
Definitely not better than you, as when your retirement arrives, then you will also have much time for sleeping and for taking hikes at your leisure. Only problem will be that you love sleeping more, and then you will not get something like this.

there's a little problem: I'm not the best swimmer myself, so I could better teach the cars how to dive 😂 !LOLZ
I definitely want take advantage of the free time when I'm retired - I'm planning to sleep as short as possible and get out as much as possible. Taking such cool photos of predator birds is something I want to do too, and to become more patient ... we'll see 😉

Happy Friday to you and yours! Beautiful shots as usual and yes!...I saw the horse :) The animals are leaps and bounds above us mere humans in terms of self-sufficiency. We've lost alot of that knowledge along the way lol. Stay warm and dry over the weekend!

It has been raining here in our city and the birds were very happy as it has been in the 50's for the past few days.
