Almost shyly the moon crept out behind the mountain peaks.

A stranger also came to watch the moonrise with us.

So, you are also welcome to come and watch the moon rise with us.

The local doggy park offers a lovely view of the mountains, and often friendly animals will come and say hello to us. The mountains were about 1 kilometer away, and ideal for my zoom to get the moon crawling up out of the mountains. We often get the moonrise times wrong as they would say moon rise will be xxx hours, but then we have to allow the time period for the moon to emerge from behind the mountains. Fortunately, this time, we got it fairly right as we had to wait for about 45 minutes before the moon emerged.
So, come and see.

This grand old dame decided to get up close with me. Not my dog, but she was lovely.

Okay, back to the moonrise, and the photos below are all in sequence.

There we go. Look how lovely that moon is.

The sunset was also ongoing on our way home, but no ways that I could get it on the horizon this time around as there were too many trees in the way.

Over this year, the clouds forced me on full moon occasions to get the moon on camera, but in this case, I got it fairly well as the skies were not totally clear. This happens when there is a 28 km south easterly wind on the go, as the wind breaks the clouds up and the result is that the sky becomes hazy. I tried to take the moon on a full shot, but the photos did not come out well. Emergency warnings are out, once again, informing the public to be very careful in the sea as spring tides are at play. I always thought that it was so amazing how the full moon can control the ocean tides. During the full moons in this year, we had some serious boating accidents here and people even died due to the high waves sweeping them off their boats. You don't want to be out at sea in a boat when it's motor conks out under these conditions.
But such is life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Brilliant moon rise to enjoy, a quick visit to say hello. Not out the woods yet with still a way to go, simply needed a break to visit for a few minutes.

The moon looks like a scoop of ice cream that was dropped on that mountain 😂
Nice capture!

!LOL I like your description of the view, and yes now that I look at it again, it certainly looks like a moon flavored scoop of ice cream.
!BEER

Hey @friendlymoose, here is a little bit of BEER from @papilloncharity for you. Enjoy it!

Beautiful shots, I love looking at and photographing the moon and each time I see it shining with more splendor. I learned recently about the high tide, I didn't know that could happen, but it does happen and you have to be careful.

Thank you, and we share your love of the moon. I am glad that you now also know about the moon controlling the tides, and yes, one has to be careful.

I really enjoyed the faded colors @papilloncharity. By faded I mean not that it is going away but opening it's eye for a new night waking up, just starting. Looks like the moon comes with a new story!

Thank you, and that sequence is repeated since time began. The mountains are witnesses to it.
I hope that it would be a good story, as this world is in a mess. !LOL
