It was my wife's birthday, and friends invited us for a breakfast.
Another hot day with disruptive winds greeted us, and I will also show you some mountain shots on our way back home.
So, it will be 5 sea shots, and 5 mountain shots that I will share here in this post with you. On a very hot day, the cold water of our Atlantic Ocean can draw people like a magnet, and it is refreshing to be in the water. At the same time, it is also dangerous to expose one's skin to the hot ultraviolet rays of the sun. The locals are used to the sun, but many fair skinned visitors can get into bed at night as red skinned as a crab, after being exposed for long periods in the blazing African sunlight.
It is the last day of January now, and the weather forecasters have it right, as February is our hottest month. Some inland areas can touch in the late 40 Celsius temperatures.
Any case, we arrived early for the appointment, and I took a few action shots.
I love to see how the kite surfers jump up into the air.
Did I tell you that the water is cold? I was a bit jealous, as I also wanted to go into the water.
Now I will show you some mountain shots upon our return.
We waited at a traffic light and look at that mountain view.
And so, of course I took a long way around to get a few different shots of the clouds tumbling down the mountains. It was a sight to see, as the strong wind drove the cloud from the right down to smash into the mountain peak at the left.

And then the clouds started to cover the mountains.

I don't know about you, but I have a passion for both of the sea and the mountains. In fact, nature has always played a big role in my life, simply because as a child I was banished from our house by my mom, as little boys belonged outside. I will never blame my mom, as she did not realize what a great gift my external activities in nature played later on in my life. That word "outside" was buried in my mind as a small seed, to later bloom into a passion for "outside".
To this day, now in my old age, I can simply not stay inside for long periods, and our small front garden must be tired of my presence :)
Even at night, I sit outside until late counting the satellites that course through the skies.
As I always say, such is life.

I like close birthdays and celebrations between spouses. It's the same in my family.
I see how important it is to have both the sea and the mountains nearby, that makes you love both. I like the sea, my wife likes the mountains, but because the sea is closer, we go to the sea more.
In my childhood, they used to say "outside" too. I was always outside and I was happy. I'm glad that the same happened to you, especially since the nature and the relief there is amazing!

We both love the mountains and the sea, and both are only 6 kilometers away from us. On a strong wind day, we visit the mountains, and on a good day we visit the sea. !LOL
I think that many children that were born in the 50's like us know the word "outside", and today's children do not know what they are missing as they all seem to be forever inside and on their phones.

I think it's a great advantage that life has given you to live in a place with fantastic relief and nature..
Lately, I think that there is a downside to everything my friend. We are struggling again now with power cuts, and it is not good news for the country and the economy. But we refuse to become downhearted, as in nature we don't need lights.
