That was the moon above the mountains in the late afternoon.
But first, I will show you some early morning shots.
The weather can change in a blink of an eye over here. We have recently had some semi cyclone speed winds here, especially the south-easter, and among the damages was the biggest solar plant in the country. A wind so strong that it can pop out old oak tree giants like popcorn. So, the clouds rush in and start to anchor themselves on the mountain tops, but even there, the wind tries to rip them apart. The heat doesn't improve matters, and our dam levels are dropping to alarming levels, due to the heat evaporation, and we still have a long time to wait for the start of our winter rains. Ironically, at the same time in other parts of the country big floods are destroying homes and infrastructure.
So here below are some morning shots, followed by some more later afternoon shots of the moon on the mountains.
And here are some late afternoon shots.
The wind won the battle to dislodge the clouds during the day and late afternoon, and the mountains were clear. A nice surprise was the appearance of the moon on a mountain peak that is called the "Dome".
And this below was my last shot of the day.
Even when some severe and damaging warnings are out, one can still find beauty and surprises in nature. I had a very difficult time in the morning to take the cloud shots, as I was standing in an open spot in a park, and the wind was trying its best to blow me over. One has to be especially careful of the sudden gusts, as they pack a mighty blow. Every now and then a gust will come in and when it strikes me, I start to involuntary dance like a ballerina on the grass in order to keep my balance :)
The sound of a wailing wind is difficult to describe, and all that I can say about it is that it is a haunting cry. At night in bed, we can hear the windy whispers and the angry slamming around of anything that is not secured. The wind has even taken a liking to our plastic garden chairs, and it tries to turn them into kites.
Such is life.

The weather changes, that's what makes life interesting. Without changing the place you got a new view. Theatre of nature powers I would say. Amazing 😍
I get a new view on most days depending on the directions that the famous Cape winds come from. At times opposing winds clash in the sky right above us, as we live in a bay with mountain surrounds at the back, and the wild atlantic ocean at the front.
Nature always has its own way to show its power and beauty, from the crazy wind forming amazing clouds to the moon rising quietly above the mountains.
Nature is alive and well at all times, and I agree with you that there are many secrets to be found in nature.

Oh, this feeling of peace! Just lying here, watching the clouds and the moon... it’s a perfect day. I'm still waiting for my husband to buy me that 500mm lens 😂, but I guess that means I’ll be spending a lot of time sleeping outside 😂 love the photos 👍👌
