Everything about anything that matters.

A variety of extra photos here that I cannot fit into a themed post. Like always the focus is on quality and beauty.

A Hadeda Ibis bird (Bostrychia hagedash) came over with its nesting material in its beak.

Nature is a treasure trove of small things, and it is so amazing to see many people walking past these, that you will see in here today, totally ignoring the beauty that surrounds them. This, to my mind, is a big danger as we take nature as a given and we treat it like an enemy, by trying to destroy it. We litter the rivers, rip up the ground to take minerals out and then leave the scars as is, and all of the destruction for money.
It is time for us to have a new look at nature, to place a new value upon its existence if we want our children's children to survive.
Come and look at these beauties.

The squirrel thought that my zoom could not see him :)

I think that they call this bird hanging on a grass stem above the dam, a Waxbill (Estrilda astrild).

Here below is a dragonfly and it's called a Red-veined Dropwing (Trithemis arteriosa).

This one is an Olive Thrush (Turdus olivaceus).

And here is another view of the Red-veined Dropwing.

Oh yes, the Egyptian Geese can also fly very high.

A Red-veined Dropwing in flight, from the shadows into the sunlight to sit on the perch in the water.

This one is a Cape Sugarbird (Promerops cafer).

And finally, let me end with a macro of this sweet little butterfly.

My heading of this post; Everything about anything that matters, was meant to show you the importance of nature in our lives. We cannot live without nature and yet, we are intent on destroying it. Businesses are focused on profits, pumping their toxins into the air, and giving out cancers due to the toxin filled skies, waters, soil, foodstuffs, and sprays.
And that is just the beginning as we have done this over the ages and now nature is slowly dying. The coral reefs are blanching, fish stocks are depleted and to beat it all, oil leaks and sewage are awash in the seas.
Oh woe, mankind, when will we come to our senses? Only when it's too late?

And That's All Friends.

Yet another reason why nature is now showing its anger with all of the devastating floods here. More floods predicted for the weekend. I simply cannot understand why people are allowed to build shacks on river banks.

Thank you for the compliment Lady Joan.

We really do need to give this beautiful world more love! Otherwise, our future will be bleak indeed 😢

The little Red-veined Dropwing is as stunning as any bird :) Why do many people fail to see beauty in insects, except for butterflies?

Oh yes, it has now become so urgent to take corrective steps and I think that we face many more devastating floods.

People are people my friend and many walk around as if they are blind !LOL

Great I love nature.

Thank you and I share your love.

As you said, nature is indeed a treasure trove for everything that is even as small as an ant, everything looks beautiful if we look with observant "eyes"

Good shot

Thank you and yes, the beauty surrounds everyone if they care to take a deeper look.
We do however HAVE TO learn how to take care of it, for the futures sake!

I agree, lest our children and grandchildren can't see what's currently

We cannot live without nature, but Mother Nature can easily live without us ... live better without us 😁
Lovely photos, Zac, every single one 😊

Beautiful shots, that first one looked like a prehistoric bird at first glance.
I agree we really need to change. Nature is what is keeping us alive, I wish more people could see that xxx

Thank you and that Hadeda (the first one) is indeed an olde world bird.
If we all open our eyes and open our ears we will see and hear the cries of nature.
A great time of real caring change will take place.
