Playing with the moon.

We wish all, here on Hive, a great new February month.

Some real clouds were around, and they decided to trap the moon.

We have had 4000 fires already this summer, and this morning distant fire clouds bleached the sky.
As I said, the fires over here this year are really a great big problem. In the local news on the radio, they reckon that thousands of hectares of land were scorched by the fires. Three nature reserves have also been burnt, and thankfully they managed to move the animals out of the way before the fires arrived. We see many helicopters coming over here on their way to go and fight the fires. They fill their water bags from local dams, and they try to saturate the ground with water ahead of the fire lines. So, we can be sure that much damage will result from these fires again.
But let's have a look at our sky this morning.

What a pity that the plane was not closer to the moon, but this was the best that I could get.

A cloud approached and it swallowed the moon.
142.JPG

I caught a few glimpses of the moon in the belly of the cloud.

But then, it closed up on the moon.
128.JPG

A few dregs of clouds remained, and you can see this one trying to grab the moon with its three-toed claws.

But the moon was clever, and it ducked beneath so that the cloud could fly over its head:))
149.JPG

This is what I call a maelstrom of swirling clouds.

Finally, just to show you this moon shot that I took yesterday.

One can get a well-rounded feel of the moon here, and remember that it is a sphere. So much has been spoken and written about it, from poetry and folklore, to history and the ancients. And, also with regards to science and geography, with our never-ending search for ways to get to it.
And for the ultra-rich, to even live on it.
Like the rest of nature, do we truly appreciate what it does and all that it means in our lives?
Of course I love the moon, and often take photos of it, as it gives me that silent strength in its glide across the sky. At times, I get birds close to it, and it just shows that life and the moon are connected in a song and dance of our lives.

I hope you have enjoyed the story and the pictures.

Holly f.. 4000 fires last summer?! That's insane!!! Just please take care and stay safe. It is horrible to see dangers around you and leave things behind but it's better to be safe!

Thankfully we live outside the fire lines over here, we have several heatwaves in the country and now in summer, everything is tinder dry.
Thank you for the care my friend.
