Random shots on a farm.

We saw that harvesting was completed, but there was much more to see.

The bales were ready to be loaded and transported.

The chicken gang knows my wife, and it's only a matter of time until they arrive when we sit down for some real farm coffee. My wife also knows that they will arrive, and she prepared for their arrival by buying small bags of maize pips at the tuckshop on the farm. At night the chickens are kept secure in a coop, and at daytime they are set free to enjoy chicken life. Chickens are intelligent and they know who feeds them, so they love my wife. I also feed them, but they lean rather towards the female side, so I take a back role.

Just a lovely view of an approaching cloud formation over the lands.

My wife in her favourite feeding element.

Now before you look at the photo below this one, please tell me what you thought this was?
064.JPG

Yep! It was a little Featherfoot rooster.

Maize pips can create a thirst, and a queue was lining up at the doggy bowl that I fetched from the entrance.

One of the chicken gang was missing, and I found her at another spot on the farm. Here below you can see the reason for her being absent from the gang. She was preparing the next generation:))

There was one little black one that drew my attention. Maybe it was the featherfoot's baby?

Look at the little black one. It even has white eyebrows. So cute to see the mommy training the little ones, by scratching the soil open for them so that they can eat. Some little ones even tried to do the scratching by themselves.

And finally, Mrs Robby also came to collect some cheese, and when she takes a lot of cheese then we know that she has a nest somewhere.

So, there you have it. Life on a farm in the rural areas. I often get some Jackal Buzzards flying overhead, but sadly on this day they were nowhere to be seen. Maybe they were also nesting. The fear is, of course, that they will try to get the chicks. But we cannot interfere with nature, and hopefully the farm laborers will keep an eye on the little chicks.
It is so peaceful on the farms here, and they all tend to match with nature, so one can drink that peace in and relax a little bit. One day, when I am old, I also hope to buy a farm. But as I am already old, it's only an empty dream that will not be clothed in action.
Do you have any empty dreams?

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and story.

Your cock is so fat, it must be a lot of meat. I was imagining that if it were chicken meat it would be very delicious.

seeing the hay balles brings bakc memories of when I helped the uncle bail hay and them load them onto trucks to bring them back to uload in the barn where he stores them such hard work it was but i enjoyed it ;) Have a great day

A good story my friend, and I am glad that I could remind you of some fond memories.

The chickens know well enough who to cling on and that the one who feeds more. That's cute of them. We also have chickens at home. They're not picky, they'll approach whoever feeds them. Clever. 🤷😅

Oh yes, chickens are clever when it comes to food. Glad that you also have chickens, and you are right, as chickens will rush to anyone with food for them.

LEO Power Up Day - November 15, 2024

Hehe, Chicken gang is cool. And Chicken Gang Next Generation.

Awesome photos.

As for empty dreams... I do not even want to think about it at this stage. I am just surviving and raising kids.

Thanks, and I was in the same situation with 3 kids 50 years ago. !LOL

Hehe. One day, I will also be all grown up like that with the kids all grown up. !LOL

And I hope that one day you will be very proud of your achievements with the kids. !LOL

😑😑😑😑😑 One day. I do too. I worry about them and the future.

We all do, and that's why at your stage now, if you do things right, then you can leave the future in the Lord's hands.

!BEER
