There are so many talented people here trying to earn an honest living.

Just have a look at this, as I think that it belongs in an art museum.

The first local flea market of the spring season opened on the weekend. They close down during the winter season as it's also the rainy season, and the cold keeps the people at home. The great thing about spring season, is that all the flea markets and other kind of markets are opening now in the many towns that we have in the Western Cape province. The Wineland tours have now also opened, and they are very popular with tourists. People can visit many wine farm restaurants in the Wineland tours, and wine tasting is also popular.
In any case, let me show you some art at our local flea market.

Many years ago, this was a reality as big herds of elephants roamed the countryside. Sadly, now it is all over, as mankind built towns in the area.

Look how lovingly the mommy holds the trunk of her baby.

These are all African elephants, and I don't know if you have noticed, the African elephants' ears are much bigger than the Indian elephants' ears. It's that ivory that costs the elephants their lives.

No pictures to use as templets, as he draws it all from the pictures in his head. Btw. That will be a lovely giraffe drawing when it is completed.

Now for some hardware.

And our sea here also had a role to play, as everything in the photo below was made with seashells and seaweed.

So, spring is in full swing, and the birds also know it as they are building nests all over the place. The good news is that I have shown you the babies of the sunbirds that were born here in our front garden and now another pair of sunbirds is building a nest in the lemon tree in our back garden. I have been watching them, and as soon as the nest is done, I will do a post on it. Then it is for the wait for the babies to be born. But back to the flea markets, one can find all kinds of interesting things at the stalls, such as dresses, and other kinds of clothing, handmade jewelry, succulents, music, food, arts and crafts, and a host of other stuff. Our habit is to sit at one of the coffee stalls and to watch the people go by. Pets are also allowed, as long as they are on leashes.
