Just my way of looking at the beauty that surrounds us.
Three reflection shots and then some other views. So come with me for a peaceful stroll.
The owners and the management of the wine farms here, all appreciate the beauty and importance of nature. So, they employ botanists and other bio staff to make sure that they stay in a partnership with nature on the farms. They protect the wild birds, as many species rid the vineyards of pests, and I have posted a farm with a big troop of Runner Ducks that were trained to go out every day into the lands. They eat snails, slugs and other pests in order to protect the vineyards. It was amazing to see the ducks at work, as they pair off and run in between the vine lines to eat as much as they can. The farms also have dams with crystal clear water, and cleanliness is a high priority.
Let's have a look now at some mountain shots.
It was early morning, and for a change, the scenes were not overcast with dark rain clouds. We are now slowly moving towards the spring season, and it will officially start on the 1st of September. So, the foresight is that the days will start to get warmer with clear skies. It was a terrible wet winter with the quantity of rainfall breaking all previous records. Some severe floods created havoc by misplacing many hundreds of people that lost their houses. A few fires also didn't improve the situation.
But let's have a look at the mountains on this day.
It is wonderful to walk around on the wine farms, and they are actually called wine estates. All the wines that are made here are top quality, and they have earned many local and international awards. Unfortunately, or fortunately, we don't drink alcohol so I cannot tell you what the taste is of a Shiraz, or a Pinotage, or any of the others, as there are many different types of grapes over here on the farms. So, you will have to come and visit the wine tasting centers that are established on all of the farms. They also say that during the wine tasting episode, one can experience the wine tastes with olives, cheeses, and food.
