At the end of the 1920s, he was a member of the Communist Party of Argentina and, in 1933, he was a member of the first Argentine union of plastic artists.
Although he was born in Mar de Plata, Juan Carlos lived practically all his professional life in San Telmo, one of the most popular neighborhoods in the city of Buenos Aires, which is perhaps the neighborhood with the most artistic and cultural background in the whole city.
