Spiders in the Forest - Macro Photography

Spider 0.jpg
I was in the woods these days and I was looking for a subject to photograph, I didn't find many insects but among the dry leaves, I found a lot of spiders.

Spider 1.jpg
I recently purchased a flash Godox Ving V860IIIS and I must say I love it, I don't know how I lived until now without a flash 😁

Spider 1-2.jpg
I like to use the flash off-camera and move it around until I find a nice angle to create more dramatic results. I try to put it on a side or in the back not from the same direction as the camera because it will flatten the image

Spider 1-3.jpg

For the flash power, I use around 1/16 or 1/32, for iso I use 100, F 11

Spider 1-4.jpg

The hardest part is to get the subject in focus, I need to take a few shots in order to get the eyes in focus.

And when I have all set up the spider run away 😂

Spider 2.jpg
Most of the shots are cropped, I prefer to leave a little distance to get more in focus and crop after, then to be really close and don't have too much in focus.

Spider 3.jpg
Can't wait for warmer days to get more insects photos 😁

Spider 4.jpg
For editing I use Lightroom and Photoshop

Spider 5.jpg
I didn't need a tripod because I use the flash and it froze it pretty well

Spider 7.jpg

As you can see the spider are not too colorful so they can blend well with the surrounding

Spider 8.jpg

From what I found online are called Wolf spiders and are members of the family Lycosidae

Spider 9.jpg
This one was running away crossing that tiny wood bridge 😁

Spider 10.jpg
That is all for today, more photos soon 😊

Great shots , the HDR of the camera is perfect, I could see every detailed part of the spider.. It's Amazing..

Very nice shots! You captured the essence of spiders for sure. I love the clarity of the images and the mood created with the lighting. Great job! Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much ☺️

You are very welcome! =)

Beautiful, atmospheric. Monochrome makes the photos even better.

Thank you ☺️
