Protea photography in South Africa

The protea is also known as a sugarbush and it represents change and hope as well as being South Africa's national flower.

The wild honey bees mooching around this protea makes for an interesting pic. I managed to grab this little guy mid-flight which did take a good while but worth the wait.

Here's a picture of the surrounding mountains where the indigenous fynbos, as well as the Protea, grow. These are some of the oldest mountains in the world dating back to even before the Himalayas.
