Say hello to Rowan, shes been modelling for a while and lives in Sheffield - Uk, which is the closest city to where I live.. And while it's only a 20 minute drive from me, I've not really shot that much there..
Anyway, this was my first shoot with Rowan after a couple of missed opportunities and calendars not syncing.. But we managed to get a couple of hours shooting on a Cold January morning..
Sheffield is a city on the up, theres been plenty of building going on over the last few years and despite the best efforts of the inept city council, theres still plenty of investment in the heart of the city and the skies are full with cranes.
This shot was taken in the St Paul's area where its a mix of old and new, this part as you can see is relatively new and the 'cheese grater' is a multistorey car park... its got a casino and a fantastic bbq restaurant below. I've had good times in both ;-)
Really like Rowans look. Very alternative, side shave with a distinctive hairdo brilliant eyes, great lips.. But what I liked about her even more was her attitude..
So, we had a little shoot and then went for a brew, we spent more time chatting and putting the world to right than we did shooting... which isnt a bad thing..
While she has some differing thoughts to me, and especially where football is involved, we were able to chat about them and behave like adults should!! This I like!
Once life has settled down a bit, I'm sure we'll be shooting again.. I just need to get the creative juices flowing again.

Great shots. Super sharp. What lens did you use?
ive slept since, but my goto lenses are canon 85mm 1.8 and tamron 70-200 2.8 on canon r6
cheers
Nice! I used to have the 70-200 Tamron, that thing was an absolute beast. I got rid of it due to lack of use, but I now feel like I might need one again, as I'm starting to do more wedding work than I did before.
I love my 85 / 1.8, too - such a good focal lens. I've always, always wanted that f/1.2, but I don't have enough kidneys left.
agree there. love the tamron.. really love the tamron... so pleased i could get it updated when i moved to the r6 from 5d3
1.2f... pipe dream at present... i think id rather spend the cash on an air to air photoshoot.
My daughter's name was Rowan. Awesome shots!
