The sea, boats, ships - all this has attracted men for centuries. What is their magic? Why is it that even a modern man, accustomed to comfort and technology, is drawn to a place where there is nothing but endless water and wind? I don’t know the exact answer, but I can watch boats for hours. I like how the waves crash against the stern, turning into foam, how the ship rocks on the water, like a living creature breathing in rhythm with the ocean.
There is an old tradition - not to take women on board a ship, but at the same time, ships are named after women. A strange contradiction, isn’t it? Maybe sailors tried to appease the elements in this way, tame them, like a capricious lady, so that they would not show their harsh nature.
If I had my own big boat and sailing skills, I might go on a trip too. I think it's not just romance - it's a special way of life that not everyone can handle. Finding yourself in the open sea, you are left alone with the elements. At such moments, a person understands how small he is in front of the power of nature, but at the same time he gains freedom that is impossible to feel on land.
Today I suggest looking not only at the boats cutting through the water, but also at those that are in the dock. Yesterday, walking down the street, I accidentally noticed the stern of a large ship peeking out between the houses. Of course, I became interested in what was hidden behind these walls.
I have no idea what a real dock should look like, but if they repair and paint ships here, then the name was chosen correctly, or maybe it would be more correct to say - a shipyard. It would be interesting to look inside, but I understood that it was unsafe - no one would be responsible for a stranger walking among working mechanisms and metal structures.
These ships are far from modern liners and luxury yachts equipped with safety systems, autopilots and satellite navigation. They are most likely 50 years old, maybe even more. Time has left its marks on them - rust on the hull, peeling paint, traces of countless waves, storms and the scorching sun. Who knows how many miles they have traveled, what tests they have endured, how many people once stood on their decks, looking at the horizon.
But after repairs and painting, they will go out to sea again, continuing their history. They will cut through the waves, delivering cargo, fishermen and passengers to new places.
The sea does not let go of those who once fell in love with it. Even if you stand on the shore and just look at the boats, it seems that somewhere deep inside a craving for travel awakens, for unknown distances, for a feeling of freedom that is so often dreamed of, but rarely dared to experience.
These are the thoughts that came to me after a chance encounter with a ship in the dock. What do you feel when you look at the sea? ⛵⚓

I think man lives on land, it's natural to be attracted to the water where they cannot live in. I think that's why wealthy people have private cruise and yatchs on water.
The shots are beautiful. The last was had so much beauty, and the range of the shot is awesome
Thanks bro for the useful comments - maybe if you believe in Darwin's theory, we came out of the water and that's why we are drawn there))

Wow! What a beautiful post! 25 years ago a friend of mine also owned a small boat. Every summer we went for trips out to sea in the Adriatic Sea. I really liked being alone in the middle of the sea, we were the only ones with the air and the water. Nature completely surrounded us
Congratulations!
So you have experience - going to sea is a risky undertaking!
