Autumn for me is Halloween and pumpkins. I love that period of time and how people decorate their houses. I remember we had special classes in school to do the pumpkin head and also to collect hte dry leaves of different shapes but also the chestnuts.
It depends on the culture. Halloween became popular in Europe a couple of decades ago I believe, but not in every country. In my country mostly school kids celebrate it, but no one goes knocking on doors to do trick or treat.
We have All Souls' Day on the 1st of November, this is an old tradition still living that will live forever. On this day we go to the cemetery as it's a day prayer and remembrance for the faithful departed.
However, making pumpkin heads is an old way of having fun. I remember when we were kids, we went to my grandparents at the countryside and together we made pumpkin heads :)
I have not heard about All Soul's day, it sounds to be a good tradition, we often forget those who left us which is a shame. I belive many people would love to have such tradition.
