Good evening, friends. I haven't written anything for quite a while because I was a bit sick and spent most of the time recovering. Just last night, I returned to work for the first time in a while, and I was greeted by an unprecedented storm, the likes of which even the oldest residents can't remember.
There were so many lightning strikes that it was impossible to count them.
At 11 PM, it started flashing in the distance, but it quickly approached my area, and then it really began.
Strike after strike—it was terrifying; I've never seen anything like it in my life. In Dalmatia, more than seven fires broke out due to the lightning strikes, one of which was just two kilometers from me.
Fortunately, they quickly got it under control, but there's one near Split, a city 90 kilometers from me, where the fire has entered between houses, and they're still fighting it.
There are injured firefighters, people, and of course, property damage because people were trying to protect their homes and cars on their own.
Even the firefighters are astonished, saying they've never experienced so many fires ignited in such a short time due to lightning.
When I was heading to work, my son made me a sandwich with cream cheese and ham, which I really love. And of course, there was the essential coffee that I need to stay awake all night.
When I got home, I had a beautiful view from the stairs of my house, and I had to take some pictures because the sky was streaked and stunning after the night's storm.
But as they say, after the rain always comes the sun.
When I entered the apartment, I was greeted by a coffee with whipped cream that my son had made for me, even though I didn't ask him to, and he waited for me so we could have it together because he had a bus to catch in two hours to go back to Zagreb, 320 kilometers away, where he's attending university.
That was the nicest coffee I've had in a long time, especially when it's made by your son from the heart.
What an intense night, but it’s heartwarming to see how your son’s thoughtful gestures brought a bit of comfort amidst the chaos.

Yes my friend, I am grateful to have such good children, and I hope that when the younger one grows up, he will be as good and obedient as the older son. That is truly a blessing.
