📷 Half an Hour of Sunset Photography of Mount Kirkjufell

To be more precise, this entire sunset photoshoot took 34 minutes, from start to finish. And it was like this: we were driving with the firm intention of taking photos, among other things, of probably the most popular view of Iceland — Kirkjufell Mountain, preferably with the Kirkjufellsfoss waterfall. But, as often happened on that trip, we absolutely could not fit in the time and make it to the sunset on time.

So we were just approaching, and the sun had already almost completely set behind the horizon, cheerfully seeing us and all our plans off with its last rays. So I took a picture of this setting sun and the mountain, on which these very last rays were shining, right where I was — somewhere on the side of the road on the way to the waterfall.

And after we arrived and I parked the car (fortunately the parking was very close to the waterfall), I ran there very, very quickly. Especially since the sky hinted that the clouds could be beautifully illuminated at the end and could help me take nice photos.

I wandered a bit along the paths near the waterfall, choosing different angles, and decided to take a few photos, just to be sure. Especially since the sun had already set, there was no particular hurry, so at least it would be possible to look for several spots for morning shooting.

By the way, an obvious and logical piece of advice: if you don't want to push elbows and tripods with a large number of people who came there for the same thing as you, then it's better to come at dawn — at this time there will be much fewer people who will master the feat of getting up early :)

So, from these sunset photos I got a couple of nice ones, and I was very pleased and determined to come here at dawn.

And for now, I finally found another good spot and took one more picture, also with water, but without the waterfall itself. In this photo you can see how the last bright colors in the sky on the clouds are burning out. I would have gladly taken a shot here a little earlier, while the sky was still bright — the foreground with the grass and moss turned out well, but I can't be in all places at the same time :)

Well, that's it, the sunset was definitely over, and we could go on to our overnight stay. I was pleased with the photos, even despite the rush and being late. So now I am happy to share this half-hour of sunset photoshooting with you. It was awesome!

It's better to watch photos in high resolution.

The sunset is very beautiful but the waterfall is no less interesting.

Yes, the waterfall is very nice. It is one of the reasons why this viewpoint is so popular.

Yes, I agree.
