During the summer heat, when the temperature outside is +37C, it is sometimes tempting for me to plunge into memories of winter. For example, today :)
Wherever you look, there is snow all around, a magical atmosphere of deep snowdrifts, spruce trees sticking out of them, covered with snow and bent by the wind into bizarre figures, chains of footprints in the middle of the untouched white cover... It is nice to return to these memories, to feel the refreshing breath of winter. That is why I like to take pictures — to better remember what I once saw, to feel the atmosphere of different places again.
It's funny, but I definitely wouldn't want to live in such a winter for most of the year, I like warmth more :) However, I would enjoy visiting a winter fairy tale from time to time.
From a photographic point of view, the winter season is much more modest in terms of the variety of colors in the landscape. But white snow always harmonizes with the colors of the sky, absorbing them a little into itself too: blue, and sunset pink, and purple, and orange. And also the shapes, patterns and lines in the landscape appear more clearly in such a reduced palette of colors — the eye sees them more easily, without being distracted by the diversity of colors around.
I don't think I'll be able to visit those trees again anytime soon and see such a luxurious northern fairy tale, feel this frosty mood of nature. But winter happens in many places :)
It's better to watch photos in high resolution.
