Good morning Hive family and all the photographers lovers around the world, what I got here for you all today are some new shots and these are from Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) in California. I wanted to go to this for along time now to shoot but I almost didn't go, I also wanted to go Saturday in which was the bigger day for more people dressing up but actually went on a Sunday. It was still a good time but less people dressed up. I also started editing them and only did like twenty shots and redirected my editing to something else, so I got to eventually get back to them but here are some shots I captured on this day and a second post of edited stuff might just come later. So the Day of the Dead also know as Dia de los Muertos is a holiday that Mexicans welcome back the souls of their deceased relatives, its a short reunion, with food, drinks and a big celebration of dressing up etc. This holiday is celebrated each year and its from October 31 to November 2 each year. Halloween is the 31st, November 1st and 2nd is all Souls Day. In that tradition they say that at Midnight October 31st all the spirits of the children can rejoin their families for 24 hours and then the next day is when the Adult spirits do the same.

Just a little info on what this celebration is, so now we should just jump right into some shots I got on this day. I have more of these of this lady all dressed up, full body with dress but didn't edit those yet, so I shall have some more later. She and two others are all I saw on this day. I got these head shots though to present and this first one I like the best but I really wished I would of taken out the person walking under and behind her hat. All good it is what it is and still a good shot. That's one thing about street photography when you do or don't want people or other objects in the scene. So this still to me deserves to be the cover shot, the next shot below is nice too, more of a side view of this lady.

Another nice shot here and I was going to have this as the cover but I liked the one with her touching her ear with them bone gloves on, so its all good. This one is nice and no object in the way that I didn't want in the shot.

In this area it is an Old Town spot, so tones of old buildings and many wonderful Mexican food places to eat, yes I ate. I always do and it was delicious. Now they had so many of these around and I do have more shots of the figures dressed up to post, so that will probably be the second post later down the road.
