The Lion Dance in Chinatown

in Photography Lovers3 years ago

Lunar New Year has just passed. Some of the Chinese New Year decorations are still attached in some places. I just remember that I have some old photos of the lion dance, a traditional dance in Chinese culture.

I took it in an old Chinatown called “Pasar Baru”, a trading area founded in 1820, and is the oldest shopping center in Jakarta. When we were there, it was still 9 a.m. or so, the area was still quiet, not many stores were open yet.

In front of one of the stores, we saw a lion dance attraction. We stopped briefly to see it. I'm interested in taking photos of them with my cell phone. Here are some photos I took. Enjoy!

When I took the moving object photos, sometimes I didn't expect to see some interesting small details. And it only seen after I zoom in the photo in editing process. Like their expressions for example.

It must be very difficult to do this attraction. It seems that the heaviest duty is the person in the rear end of the lion, because he has to lift his friend up and keep his balance.

But this guy looked very chill. Awesome!

And this drummer's performance, surprisingly was quite attractive with his hands movement.

Hope you enjoyed the photos.
