RE: Lat Night's Sunset Above Donner Lake

The shot is perfect, with the lake in the foreground and the mountains in the background it was worth it to get through the powdery snow. Do you edit the panorama on the spot? I'm thinking about it in case you have to make adjustments to any of the vertical photos.

Thank you! I stitched the panorama on my computer using Adobe Photoshop's Photomerge feature. I usually use a program called PTGui but for some reason, it struggled creating a well stitched pano, so I tried Photoshop and it did a great job. Usually, Photoshop is not perfect and PTGui does a better job...

My camera does not stitch panos in the field. It was a very high resolution image after merging (21,854 x 7,285 pixels, nearly a gig of info). I have a very nice computer, but even it was struggling to stitch that big of a file and took a very long time.

I do make adjustments to one of the 22 RAW images, then I make those same exact adjustments to all of the other images, prior to stitching them together.

Hope that helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions about my process.

I was curious since I know nothing about taking this kind of pictures so I was imagining how high is he or how wide is that lens 😅 thx for all the details
