For a long time I did not make posts in the Hive blog, well, nothing.
I recently visited a dino park in Lviv.
It was very interesting there. I learned a lot of interesting things about dinosaurs.
At the very entrance we were met by the king of dinosaurs - Tyrannosaurus Rex.
This predator can weigh 7-10 tons. He was among the last dinosaurs to exist before the Cretaceous period.
Cretaceous period - it lasted 66 million years ago.
Dinosaurs that ruled in the Cretaceous period:
- Triceratops
- Pachycephalosaurus
- Carnotaurus
- Pteranodon
- Tyrannosaurus
- Zauropelta
In my opinion, the scariest of all dinosaurs in this park was Spinosaurus.
Its weight can reach 8 tons, length - 12-15 meters, and height 4-7 meters. Spinosaurus was one of the largest predators on earth.
The main feature of Spinosaurus was "sail" from the processes of the vertebrae on the back. The most famous was 2 meters high.
This dinosaur also lived in the Cretaceous period.
The bones of Spinosaurus were first found by McGrath in 1912 in the Valley of Egypt.
The next no less interesting dinosaur I want to tell you about is the Ankylosaur.
It could weigh up to 6 tons and could be up to 9 meters long and 1.7 meters high.
Ankylosaurus is a herbivorous dinosaur he had a broad surface body. He was four-legged and had hind limbs longer than the forelegs. At the end of the tail he had a "mace" that served him for protection.
This dinosaur lived in the late Cretaceous.
Barnum Brown first found the bones of the Ankylosaur in 1906 in the US state of Mont.
Also there was my favorite dinosaur Dilophosaurus.
He lived in the early Jurassic period. The Jurassic period was about 145 million years ago.
Dinosaurs that ruled during this period: Diplodocus
Cryolophosaurus
Ophthalmosaurus
Ornitholestes
Guannul
Allosaurus
Archeopteryx
Dilophosaurus is a dinosaur predator.
He, like all theropods, moved on its hind legs. He had an elongated neck and a head on which was placed a double bony crest.
Dilophosaurus bones were first discovered in 1940 by Nevaho Indian Jess Williams.
Another no less amazing dinosaur is Proceraptos.
Many confuse it with Triceraptus.
The weight of Protoceratus was about 180 kg in length 180 and in height 60 cm.
He lived in the late Cretaceous. It belongs to the herbivorous dinosaurs. The remains of Protocertops were first found in the Gobi Desert by photographer J. Shackleford during an expedition in 1922.
In addition to dinosaurs, there was also an erupting volcano
Also there you could play an archaeologist there to dig up the bones of dinosaurs in the sandbox.
And much more interesting.
