Hello everyone, all adventurers, travelers!
Today I have a new adventure, this is nothing new for me. I'm going to introduce you to the story as if no one has ever done this before :D You will see what cleaning the accommodation I rent out in my small town of Smederevo looks like. What tools I use, who helps me, as well as how much time and how detailed the accommodation needs to be arranged for the next guest. I will show you all that in this post.
My family has been renting out accommodation for a long time. It used to be on a monthly basis, but one day when I got older, that was exactly 3 years ago :D I convinced them to start renting out apartments for the day. And we slowly started with one smaller accommodation, and it started well. My parents saw that it was worth it, and so today we have 3 accommodation and we plan to open another one. That it is going so well, and in the small town of Smederevo. I guess we are lucky, because whoever sets off on a trip or returns from a trip, it is convenient for them to stop and rest in Smederevo, but that is not all. We have one of the largest plain fortresses in Europe, and it is truly beautiful, and interesting for tourists.
Let's go clean.
Find the intruder in this picture :D Let me help you a little, the trash can is in the middle of the living room.
This is what the accommodation looked like after the guests who were there for 4 days. They weren't there for long and they left the accommodation neat and clean, I like it when they leave the accommodation neat like this, not because I hate cleaning, but because I know they didn't break or spoil anything, and that says a lot about them. It takes me about 2 hours to tidy up the accommodation like this. If the guests are a little messier then about half an hour to an hour longer, depending on how messy the accommodation is.
I immediately got to work, putting the bin back in its place and putting a new clean garbage bag in it.
I forgot to tell you what chemicals I use for cleaning. First, the cleaning agent (green), I use it to clean and disinfect the sink, the sink and the shower. It removes all the limescale very well, it doesn't smell nice, but it cleans and disinfects very well. I usually use a sponge, the rough side, to clean everything well, then I rinse with water and dry it all well with a towel.
After I spray everything and wash it well with that green product. Then I start cleaning what I think is the nastiest part of this apartment. The toilet bowl is a nightmare, even though it never gets dirty, the very thought of cleaning it makes me sick. But what can I do, someone has to do it. I usually clean it with varikin, this product is white, it's in the middle. It has a very strong smell, I like the way it smells, some people don't, but it disinfects really well, and everything smells clean afterwards. I usually wipe it with paper because it seems more hygienic to me.
After tidying up the toilet and kitchen, it's time for the bedroom. It looked like this when I arrived, this is how the guests left it, and I'm very grateful to them. Although it doesn't mean anything to me that it's tidy, because I definitely change all the linens and make the bed so that it's nice and tidy for the next guests. I love it when guests leave their beds neatly made, it gives me motivation in a way :D

Don't worry, this is changed bedding :D I have 3 of these, each guest gets clean bedding and the bedding is changed after each guest. I wouldn't want to go to an accommodation where someone has slept on that bedding before me either.
I always try to make the bed as tight as possible, and to arrange it as nicely as possible. Even though I know that a guest will see it for even 2 seconds and immediately tear it apart, it's nice to see that everything is tight and tidy. The visual impression is what buys guests ;D
Maybe I didn't tighten the bed the best now, but I was in a hurry to take the picture because the guests announced they would be arriving soon. It happens that they arrive much earlier than they said. But after taking the picture, I tightened the bed nicely.
Do you like the way I pack my towels?
Finally comes the Sanitol product. I use it to disinfect the furniture and dust it. It kills 99.9% of all bacteria and smells very nice. I spray all the carpets and all the paths on the floor with it. I always leave the living room for last. I apologize for not taking pictures of what it looks like when it is tidy and furnished, but as I said, I was in a hurry, so I didn't have much time to take pictures.
Do you have any advice? What other resources should I use? And do you have any suggestions for improving the services in the apartments?
I almost forgot to mention my assistant who is more of a hindrance than a help. He wants to go with me everywhere all the time so I feel bad leaving him at home so I take him everywhere. That's my sweet dog Buddy. You all know Buddy, the sweetest dog, but not only is he cute but he's also smart, he knows how to change the pillowcases on the pillows himself. That would be a dream come true, wouldn't it?
