Every winter me and my husband spend a few days snow shoeing in Rocky Mountain National Park. This past winter was one of the best trips that we have ever had. We had one clear day which was fine for us to get in the hike to Dream Lake. The last two winters we faced insane wind on this hike. But this year we lucked into perfect conditions. It was super cold but it wasn't bad
I have visited the park all season but winter by far is my favorite time to visit. I am a fan of the snow and cold, so the weather is perfect for me. This year we got lucky with a big snowstorm which made the park super peaceful with almost no crowds. The wildlife was all over, and we even saw a Moose as the snow was falling. The snow just makes the park down right stunning.
I highly recommend visiting in the winter you can rent snowshoes and spikes in Estes Park which I highly recommend doing for better traction in the snow. Winter is the perfect time to visit with less crowds.
