The Strength Of Steel - 1973 looks like a labor protest. Workers are sacrificed. They fight back. Some are killed.

Our Fathers - 1981 this one also seems to be about unrest. Workers being beaten, maybe shot in the background. The group in the foreground either excluded. Having no work. Or possibly even organizing.

I tried to find some history on this artist but did not find much. I would be interested in his politics. Perhaps I am reading too much into these works.

No wonder you didn't find anything on him. Back in those days, you either agreed to state politics, or you faced persecution, jail, torture and death eventually. There' was no such thing as your politics. Politics was a single one and you chose sides, depending on how brave you were.

He was critiqued and excluded from exhibitions, you can imagine he had no choice than to succumb, to be able to survive.
