On a recent hike, I took a side path off the Long Trail to this stunning overlook.
The Long Trail runs along the spine of the Green Mountains in Vermont. There are many overlooks like this one that give expansive views of the Champlain Valley.
The path to this overlook is a pretty well worn path but the turn off is not marked. I found it mentioned in an online hiking forum.
It was a wonderful day. You can see all the way across the valley to the Adirondack Mountains in New York. You can almost see Lake Champlain at the base of the Adirondacks.
I took a few pictures on the way in looking through the trees.
It so exciting to expore a new trail like this... is this the view or does it get better?
It gets better 🙂 and really opens up. I love Vermont ❤️ What a view!
These are some really gorgeous shots. The complimentary blue and green couldn't have been captured better!
Thanks 🙏🙏 it was a gorgeous day. Even had the cloud shadows adding to the range of colors.
The mountains are well named... it's green. Beautiful photos, especially with this slightly cloudy sky.
Have a great day

The view is beautiful.
Thanks. I agree 🙂
This is giving me camping vibes.
It would have been good weather for it. It was before the heat and humidity moved in. Its been really nasty here.
