Thank you, and yes my first thought was that it is a water color. Change is a constant, and nature teaches that. The birds break formation when there is a change a sudden direction, but then they line up again to continue with the flight. Strong wind gusts can also cause the collapse of a formation.

Thanks for the information. I've often seen birds flying in formation but haven't ever seen a formation break!
