Mist the Corner

in Photography Lovers2 years ago

It was quite foggy in the evening and after everyone went to bed, I took the camera for a little wander around the area to see if there was anything I could catch. There was a nice golden glow from the street lights which lit everything up, but it was crushed in the camera a bit, so I added a little back in post-edit to return to its glory.

With this day being so incredibly busy with work, I am going to let the photos "speak for themselves" more than I usually do perhaps, but it is never really sure. I often say that at the start and by the end, I still have 1000+ words under the title.

Speaking of titles, does anyone think I should add titles that are less obtuse? You know, like should I have called this one, "Photos from around the place on a misty night", instead of the far less descriptive title I used? I dunno - I just get bored with being told what I am going to look at or read. It feels too much like a laugh track.

The above image is the mist being blown across one of the garden lights, it is shot at quite a fast speed, but I wanted the trails still I took another where each drop was clear, but it wasn't very interesting at all.

And look at this exciting thing! It is the external unit for the air-water heat exchanger that we use to produce the heat for our house and for our hot water system. It is pretty much silent, but when it drops below about -12, we end up having to use nearly all electricity to heat instead. Fingers crossed for a very mild winter this year!

Wouldn't it be nice if gold fell from the sky?

PB130953.jpg

It was a bit strange being outside though, as for some reason, there was not a single car that drove past in all the time I was out there. Normally, the road isn't overly quiet, but thankfully, the houses are so insulated that we don't hear the traffic - most of the time. There are the annoying 15-year-olds on mopeds and peewee-50s that buzz past - until the ice is on the road.

This last one is what got me out there in the first place, as this is the scene from outside the front door and it looks "kinda spooky" in this light and the house across the way is the kind of place murders have happened - or will.

Well, since this is a photo post and I am in training sessions for the rest of the day, I think I will have to cut it off short here and get back to Hive in the evening after 10 or whatever it is when I get home. These Team weeks are all well and good, but spending so much time with the Team can get a little bit grating, especially since they are planned down to the minute with even the scheduled breaks, spent talking about work stuff.

Only 4.5 days left....

there is a swedish (I think) story I read many years back, if my memory serves right, "Let Me In" or something similar. It is about a romantic relationship with a boy and a young female vampire :)

Don't laugh, I read a lot of junk :)

But jokes aside, I loved the novel. So much so that I still remember it. Your picture reminded me of that book.....

You read Swedish teen vampire drama?? :D :D

yeah, what can I say, I read the American teen vampire drama too! :)

There you have it!

The darkness and lighting offers a misty ere to the image. I like the mood you captured. The photos could be used is a fictional story if you decided.

I was thinking about a story based on one or two of them - it is a nice starting point :)

Love them, I have an almost identical set of pictures but in a different corner of the world, of a walk during the night, I love how moody and orangey town streets get with the mist.

The mist is great for photography, even during the day. It subdues all the tones and softens the corners - it turns any location into a dream.

Do titles that are less obtuse and less fun for you only if you care about seo 🙃

The photos are great, the heat exchanger looks like it could be one of the generators from Dead by Daylight 😆

I do not care about SEO! :D

I haven't played dead by daylight, but I assume there is lots of death involved :)

Generally yes XD

Indeed, very mild. It is still about 15C here during the daylight. I have never seen such a warm November for a long time. We sometimes open the boiler just one or two hours at nights.

Considering the high gas prices, nature might be trying to help us :)

Considering what we do to it, I would expect it more to try to kill us! :D

These are so cool. I love the moodiness of the images. It reminds me of all the fog in Krakow during Steemfest back in the day.

Oh yeah!! That one night was especially great - plus the "street meat" in the square - best grill I have ever had.

It was such a fun time.

Speaking of titles, does anyone think I should add titles that are less obtuse?

For the love of all that’s holy, no.

:D

"A post about a night where I went to the park and took some photos while it was foggy"

Not going to lie.. They look absolutely fucking amazing.. Pardon the language.

It does look a bit toxic though with the yellow effect to it.. Ambient lighting always looks nice ey.

It also reminds me of Chernobyl I dont know why, especially that last photo!

Really well taken shots!

Swear all you want around here!

Ohh, that would be a good edit for it :)

Laughs laughs!.

No doubt it would! Have a good one bud

The photo frames reminded me of a dream I had some time ago! I would never have dared to go out and take photos in such weather, congratulations! Very mystical, alluring but quite eerie! I love to take photos but I would never dare to do that 🤷📸🙏

Fog and mist are definitely "fit for a dream" :)

Finland is so safe, you can go anywhere at night :)

Firlandia is exactly where I should be then! 😂🤷📸

This photo looks like from a silent hill horror movie...

the fog really gives the misterious touch! the color you gave to the photos also match really good...

It does look like a horror movie - axe murderer or supernatural?

i would say supernatural jajaja

Nice photos, a little from the fairy world. And the last photo is the most beautiful and kind. Such a walk, with such air, in my opinion, is the best physical activity.

That last one is a pretty decent photo. It reminds me of an image my dad painted once.

Looks like scenes from a movie.

The color scheme typically would be for horror movie, but for some reason yours do not give out that vibe.

One of the things I have found interesting since moving here is, I am far less "scared" of the night - there is so few things that are actually dangerous.

For humans, lack of perception (vision) in the dark (unknown) triggers fear.

I enjoy the calmness of darkness.

I love the shots you took. I love the fact that it had something to reflect upon for you. Although you've said one of the images isn't interesting, I find all of them fascinating.

Do you think any murder has been committed in that house across the spooky-looking house?

I don't know if a murder took place, but at least the previous owner died there. He was an alcoholic though.

Mr. Taraz those photos are very beautiful and truly your land has gold falling from the sky even in spite of the fog that helps it to fall beautifully on your house and your little girl's swing.

Here in my land (tropical climate) it is the opposite, there is a heavy and humid mist, a product of the evaporation that also lets the gold that the universe sends, like a falling piñata... Let's see, ¿who catches more?.

May you have a prosperous week with life and health.

I miss the steam rising from the jungles :)

Wouldn't it be nice if gold fell from the sky?

That depends on how much gold would fall. small gold coins might be alright. But I would not want to be outside if gold bars would fall on my head.

The spooky shot is really interesting.

Lol - a couple bars in the head might be worth it :D

I like to take pictures at night, your pictures are like candles that light the place, there are people who find their comfort at night in terms of calm and far vision.

The nights are great for images - with a tripod and a long exposure :)

This looks like the perfect Halloween setup, just need a few pumpkins haha.

Why is that gif so disturbing.... :D

Disturbingly cringe 😂

It makes me feel uncomfortable...

I actually like it, some smooth dance moves... 💃

It is said that our eyesight improves when we go out and see far in the dark. Too many lights are harmful and tiring. I like your pictures remind me of scary stories backgrounds

I think they will appear in a horror theme in the future :)

It seems to me you captured the right images at the right time . Thanks to your Pro lens camera. It did enough justice !!

The orange glow from these shots is so enticing.. Reminds me of a perfect evening for Halloween! Amazing
