A mono sort of Monday

Those that follow me probably know that I try and get out for a morning walk most days ( when its not too cold i.e. in Winter that will change) but this last week the weather really hasn't been kind enough to allow that to happen, most days it has been raining around the time of sunrise, the exception being Thursday after the storm, I did try heading out as it wasn't raining but the wind was gusting to 35mph which made the real feel not far of freezing and I called it quits and went back home to be warm.

That morning when I got home I guess the not getting out walking was getting to my mood and I edited the shots I am sharing in this post a selection of Mono images, now also those who follow me will know I seldom do a conventional Black and white image when I do a mono edit and these photos are no exception each in a slighter different color tone.

These are all taken on a walk in the Acushnet Sawmill park, which I have shared shots of before mostly in color.
Often I never see anyone in the park, but this day this guy was enjoying the view over the water

The Acushnet sawmill is beside some private properties and at spots it is marked clearly and closed off to keep us in the trail and not head into private property

Another shot on one of the trails, after rain one had to walk one step as in some parts it can get slippery with the trucks and tree roots

I am guessing after heavy rain this part of the trail must get covered with water, and hence these raised wooden walkway bits, but I have never seen the ground more than damp on my visits there and I always walk beside them

It's always a pleasure for me, my friend 😃

No, I'm not back at work yet. Today is a holiday here and tomorrow would be only a half day to work, so I take the other 4 hours off, and I have decided to take the rest of the week also off, because after a week at home I have begun to feel good without my work 😁

Thank you JJ, tonight we'll get rain that will last till tomorrow, says the weatherman, but then it should be nice again.

Yep, we finished the painting work in the afternoon and it looks better now. I like painting when a room is empty, but when the room is full of furniture and two cats are running around ... 😅

Yep, one day doesn't matter, but according to the weatherman it should already rain, but it is still dry ... the rain is late, or the weatherman is wrong 🤣

Surprisingly, monochrome is not a shade of black and white in art. Monochromatic color refers to a color scheme that is comprised of variations of one color. You can use any color to create a monochromatic color scheme. For example, adding white to red creates pink, adding black to red creates maroon, etc. Then, you could have a monochromatic color scheme of pink, red, and maroon.

This works with any color and you always, always do the perfect monochrome shots!

They look as moody as the weather was, despite how nice it was today. I like how the tone can make it say whatever you want!

Lovely pictures, the mono effects really capture a mood. Have you ever considered using a film camera with black & white film?

I started with film cameras in the 70s my uncle had a developing lab that was how I learnt a lot about photography
But yes I have been thinking of picking up a classic film camera and taking it out occasionally

It's true that mono does not need to be black and white; it's really just a gradient of any particular colour in the photo, from 0-255.

I love the sepia of the trees!
