Its Monday lets do a Mono Post

When i was preparing my recent Post for Sunday which Had shots of fishing, this was one of the shots I was thinking of using but since there is no fisherman in sight it inspired me to do a mono post.

When I got to the spot and parked that morning I noticed the bike out on the pier, it may be hard to notice but if you look closely you can see it and I thought it was worth a shot, now its a mystery to me where the cyclist was as I couldn't see him, but I literally looked away for a minute when I turned back he had appeared on the pier, i was near the start of the pier by that point so I don't think he had walked out on it while I wasn't looking but I guess he must have, either that or he had been for a swim, it was warmer back when I took this, but I am still intrigued where he was when I took this shot

This next shot was from an early morning walk on the New Bedford Fairhaven Bridge and Popes Island one of the many commercial fishing boats here.

And for this next shot we are by the pier in Fort Taber again, well before sunrise and a gloomy kind of morning I took this shot with a mind for it to be edited in Mono at the time.
Now I should comment on on Mono edits, I say Mono and not B&W because I have a tendency to rarely do Black and White edits I tend to do them with either a Sepia tone, or more often more of a bluey tone than black.

And for the next shot I am by the docks in New Bedford, and I gather this boat the Emma Nicole is a tugboat, but i could be wrong.

The boats look nice but I prefer the 2 shots of the piers and the first one is my favourite today. The lonely bicycle tells a good story - without reading your text it makes one imagine what might have happened 😃

I have bene playing with the gopro working on Star trails, getting there but not quite where i want them yet

They are worlds better than my attempts to photograph the Milky Way - I haven't even tried to edit them 😂
I think to get complete circles you will need a lot of images and also a lot of time to take them, but because of my bad photos of the Milky Way I have postponed my next tries to next year or so 😁

Yeah that’s all true I think there’s to much light pollution all around here I looked at a dark sky website and the closet place free of light pollution is 8 hours away so that ain’t going to happen

Oh yes, the light pollution played a big role in my images too - I didn't think that a few lights would have so much impact on the photos ;)
I haven't even looked where the nearest real dark area here would be, and I certainly wouldn't drive 8 hours neither 😎

Thank you JJ, that site showed me that a few blue and dark blut places are only about 40 t0 100 kilometres away. The next even darker places are in Croatia, quite a few hours driving away. But there's not much gray and I couldn't find any black spots here in Europe.

Oh yes, there's a lot of light out there, a lot more than I would have thought.

These are lovely. I really like that you do monotone as opposed to b&w. It gives the pictures focus and character simultaneously. Using sepia and blue effects brings respective warmth or moodiness to the shots. I came to your post via @dreemport
