Market Friday Bryant park Christmas Fair
A post for Market Friday hosted by @dswigle, if you haven't followed her yet you should she is one of the kindest and most supportive people here on Hive, a comment from her is like a ray of sunshine on your page.
This is the one tag and challenge that I always make a point of joining, and also look through the posts of others that join the challenge and seeing markets from all around the world.
For this weeks post, I went back to my archives again back when I was working in NYC, now I have said at times I do not miss NYC so much, but on thinking about it, at this time of year especially I do miss my Walks around the city and seeing all the decorations and lights at this time of year.
Thinking about that lead to this post as I was thinking about the places I would always visit in the weeks leading up to Christmas in NYC and Battery Park was one of them, to see mainly the Tree and Ice Skating rink, but also to check out the festive shops which I will focus on in this post.
They call this set of Kiosks that they have each year the Winter Village and has over 150 Kiosks selling all kinds of things
To Be honest I mostly visited this area early morning before the shops open, sometimes walking up there in my lunch break finding it to crowded for my liking and just walking on buy. but once I visited there when it wasnt so crowded and got these shots I will share from a few years back

A look in that store and loved some of the things they had on display, but didn't like the prices so much and did not end up getting anything from there

I cannot get over how few people there are I am guessing this is around when the shops had just opened up and before the midday crowds

If ever visiting NYC around this time of year there is so much to see, but I would recommend swinging by Bryant park if you can

This year is the first year when there's a Christmas Market here in town again since the pandemic.
It's quite a while since I have been to a Christmas Market last, but I remember that once we were there with our kids. It was beautifully snowing and the snow was already at least 2 feet high - it was awesome and the kids had so much fun ❄️

True, the market was or better said is full of people, especially at night 😀
We have been there without snow and it didn't feel like a Christmas Market - even having mulled wine or punch didn't help 😂 !LOLZ

Walk down memory lane these fascinating temporary stalls going up for Christmas time in the park, lovely photography pity the price in metal works was on the steep side.

Ohh everything there is expensive, I would imagine to cost of having a kiosk there is not cheap
Kiosk rental is most probably that high they are forced to sell products at high pricing.

It's cool how they just have them all shoved together like that. It is almost like a farmers market or flea market, but the goods seem to be much higher quality. I can only imagine what the prices were like at that metal shop!
Yeah they sure squeeze in as many kiosks as they can, I think the prices in all of them are pretty high I dread to imagine how much the vendors pay for one of those Kiosks

Yeah, they probably have to make up their rent. I didn't even think of that!
Bryant Park... They seem to be permanent structures, these stores. It's quite an innovative way to use the space.

Fun winter village! Looks like a nice place to get in the holiday spirit. My little town has a pop-up hot chocolate stand near downtown ☕

Street Photography is an area I dont feel so comfortable doing, but i need to try and get out of my comfort zone and do more of it
