Market Friday Butterflies

A post for Market Friday hosted by @dswigle, if you haven't followed her yet you should she is one of the kindest and most supportive people here on Hive, a comment from her is like a ray of sunshine on your page.
This is the one tag and challenge that I always make a point of joining, and also look through the posts of others that join the challenge and seeing markets from all around the world.

For this weeks post, I was struggling a bit to come up with an idea of what I could share today and then I came across these photos of butterflies.

Now you may be wondering how butterflies can relate to a market Friday post Well one interpretation of a market is any place you spend money at and these are in the Natural History Museum in NYC which I paid to enter

The American Museum of Natural History (abbreviated as AMNH) is a private natural history museum on the Upper West Side of Manhattan in New York City.
It is in Theodore Roosevelt Park, across the street from Central Park, the museum complex is huge and there is so much to see it comprises 26 interconnected buildings housing 45 permanent exhibition halls, in addition to a planetarium and a library.

The museum collections contain over 34 million specimens of plants, animals, fossils, minerals, rocks, meteorites, human remains, and human cultural artifacts, as well as specialized collections for frozen tissue and genomic and astrophysical data, of which only a small fraction can be displayed at any given time.

The museum occupies more than 2×106 sq ft (190,000 m2). Has a full-time scientific staff of 225, sponsors over 120 special field expeditions each year, and averages about five million visits annually.

I have shared other posts from my visit there and do recommend if your visiting the city to checkout the museum, but as I said at the start this post is about one small exhibit there of butterflies.

NOw I am no expert on Butterflies so cannot say what type they are but I thought they were beautiful

These photos were taken with my iphone, I did have my camera with me, but the butterfly enclosure was so humid my camera lens was all fogged up so I couldn't get shots with it

even with my camera lens and glasses getting all foggy in the butterfly enclosure I still enjoyed seeing them

Its raint here so today will be a quiet day, but I got out for a couple of nice walks during the week so its all good

Butterflies are very beautiful. Nice shots. We have lots of Monarchs here once the milkweed gets going.

I never thought of a museum as having butterflies. That seems like more of a zoo exhibit, but they are beautiful regardless of where they are :)

YEah I was surprised when I saw them, but again they have LOts of animal related exhibits so it kind of made sense
