Market Friday the seastreak Ferry

This is the one tag and challenge that I always make a point of joining, and also look through the posts of others that join the challenge and seeing markets from all around the world.
For this weeks post, I am going to share some shots of the Seastreak ferry, which docks and has a terminal here in New Bedford

The ferry runs from new Bedford to Martha's vineyard and to Nantucket, we haven't taken a rid eon it yet, it is on my plans, my wife not so much she really isn't keen on ferries or anything out on the water and would rather fly there which is possible from the airport here as well but the ferry is a lot more affordable than flying, so lets see if or how we do the trip[ maybe later this year if this current wave of Covid passes and things return closer to normal

The trip to Martha's Vineyard is 24 Miles and costs $40 and to Nantucket 50 Miles and takes about 1 hour and 46 Minutes and costs $50, plus extra if you want to park your car in their car park, Valet parking $25 per day and offsite parking $15 per day, not cheap but not to bad I think

The ferries ate Catamaran style, 150 Feet Long and 40 ft wide and can carry 600 Passengers and crew with a top speed of 39 Knots

Now as I said time will tell if I can talk my wife into taking the ferry, I would love to myself, to have the views as you cross over.

This ferry is so big that you almost don't even notice that it's already crossing over the sea, if the weather is nice, I believe 😉
I'm sure you can convince Lulu to make that trip with you 😊

Seastreak? I have read seasteak at first, and I thought that it is a restaurant on the water. Haha. 😂
Lol now a restaurant on the water would be nice
That'll be a fun ferry trip when the time arises! I'm sure it'll be a great opportunity for more photos, too!

The ferries are nice, I haven’t taken one to the rich islands but I have taken some in Maine and the Bahamas. It’s a nice way to get around! Plus it’s a lot more affordable which is important lol

Thanks, you too! My wife had to go out and she's definitely taking the side streets and staying off the highways, it's slippery as hell out there!
Here it’s not to slippery right now but by this evening when I will be dropping the grandkids back home I will have to be careful

Careful with the grand kiddos! Doesn't make driving fun when there's a bit of added pressure having them in there lol
We are north of Boston, so eastern mass still. At least for now, not sure where we're going to end up in the coming year lol it gets a little bit colder up here sometimes, though the cape / Bedford area is occasionally colder than us!
One of the funny things we saw the other day, it was colder here than it was in Juneau Alaska. I don't know what their weather is like but was funny to see that.
Ohh I noticed that as well I joked to my wife as she watches a lot of the Alaskan shows
That's awesome! Has she watched Homestead Rescue? That one is my absolute favorite! It's not always in Alaska but it's such an awesome show, really great family helping other people!
Are you able to take a bike over there with you at all? I think it would be cool to visit Martha's Vineyard someday. I hope you get the chance to go as well. We have a couple of ferries that run in Michigan. Probably the most recognized are the boats that run over to Mackinaw Island.
I did a ferry trip to mackinaw there once and one other one bit I forget where that was

Wow, I didn't know there was a ferry from New Bedford to the islands. Maybe I should take it one day - I don't think I've ever been to Martha's Vineyard.

Catamaran...
I recall taking a short trip from here to San Francisco.
We decided to stop by Vallejo, and instead of driving to SF, we took the boat.

There are some real nice spots here I still have so much to explore with the pandemic haven’t ventured far since we moved here

My hubs gets pretty sick on boats so it was quite an event when we lived on Nantucket for a year! haha
The very worst trip was coming back to the cape during a hurricane...I'd not mention that to your wife!
