Merry Christmas and some kindness rocks
Merry Christmas to all who may read this
Well its Christmas day and and I am doing a short post with some of my thoughts on this day. both in general and my personal thoughts from last Christmas to this one.
starting with this shot of an Nativity scene taken somewhere in NYC back in 2019, Not sure what it was about this one that I saw that made in kind of special to me or came to mind as I was preparing this post and went looking through my folders to find it

If I remember correctly it was beside an older Church I think in Queens, but I liked its simplicity especially considering all the over the top decorations in NYC at this time of year.
Now I am not trying to push my religious thought son anyone but starting with this photo and the thoughts that will follow, I have my beliefs and know others have different beliefs and I respect that, so not trying to convert anyone just giving my thoughts as they flow from my head to my fingers as I write this.
So I start with this nativity scene as being brought up a Catholic the most important thing about the Christmas season was of course the Birth of Jesus
Now I am no longer a practicing Catholic but I am still religious in my own way and do still believe that is something for Christians to never forget at this time.
Now as some may know last Christmas was to be our first in our new house and my wife was so excited and had everything prepared and planned well in advance and was so excited for Christmas day to arrive, well Christmas Eve as well as that her birthday, but the day before her Birthday she had a fall and without going on too much about it she was in a bad way and in hospital for around 5 weeks, but thankfully she recovered and is here with me now.
I mention that as After last year I initially wasn't in the mood to think about or plan for Christmas this year, but slowly that changed for me and I have bene in the Christmas mood for a couple of weeks now humming Christmas songs ( all be it when no one is around to hear LOL)
Now we are not doing anything over the top or special as such this Christmas, its focused on family time with the Grandkids and the rest of the family and for me on Making Lulu's Birthday and Christmas special this year not in regard to fancy gifts, extravagant things etc but just making her special with time together and showing her how much I love her
Which leads me to the Kindness Rocks for the rest of this post
I came across these while walking around a trail here, Kindness rocks are where people find little rocks and paint them with special messages and leave them in public areas for people to take and hopefully replace with their own creations.
Now when I saw these first a couple of weeks ago I think that is in part when I started changing my feelings about celebrating this christmas, sure simple little rocks with a little paint but at the time they just meant a lot to me and still do today hence this post.
There is the religious side of Christmas, but there is also the feel good side to this time of year, people are happier , smiling and feeling goodwill to all men, lets all embrace that this year and take it further try and hold onto it into the new year and beyond
