Mono Monday
Another week has rolled by and its Monday morning, and for me that means a Mono Monday post, with a set of varied shots I thought worked well in mono, well all but one Mono one has a touch of color.
Starting with this image looking down a ramp to one of the piers at the port, you may notice rain drops on the railings, I was lucky that morning the rain eased off just as I headed out and I was able to get a walk in.

Think about Mondays, many used to talk about the Monday Blues.
The 'Monday Blues' describe a set of negative emotions that many people get at the beginning of the workweek if they're not happy at work.
I am not sure I totally agree with that description as I know of people who used to struggle to get going to work on a Monday even if they generally did enjoy their work.
Do you suffer from the Monday blues?
I think I can honestly say for the most part I never suffered from the Monday Blues, I was generally very happy in my work and used to be ready to get to work on Mondays no problem at all.
Why do I say for the most part, well for two reasons, for many years I worked in the field and seven days a week, so Monday was no different than any other day, and secondly, when I was winding down ready for retirement, my workload slowly dropped off and I was counting the days till retirement day and perhaps wasn't so motivated to end the weekend and start a working week.
But one thing I used to always do when I was working and what I noticed many didn't do was the following.
Many on Fridays are winding down for the weekend, and put off any tedious or annoying/frustrating tasks on a Friday and leave them for Monday, which of course made the thought of doing them on a Monday morning bring on the blues to some degree or other.
I remember discussing this with a colleague a few months before I retired, and as we chatted with it and asked why I do those tasks on a Friday even if it meant staying a bit late, I explained it as my way of preparing for Monday on a Friday.
So if you generally enjoy your job but suffer from the Monday Blues, consider doing just that prepare for Monday on a Friday, not only doing frustrating tasks on a Friday, but if you have to put of something to Monday make it a task you enjoy.
Not sure how that first photo or the next photo triggered these thoughts, they weren't in my mind when I started preparing this post, But I guess I could post this as a Thoughtful Daily Post hosted by @wesphilbin

I try to work most tasks on Fridays and don't leave much for Mondays because I have learned that all work I don't do on a Friday doubles until Monday 😅

Your first photo really does it for me! It doesn't make me think of work at all...it just gives me that feeling of being by the ocean...with boats. Since childhood, being at the ocean and watching the boats has just created a special atmosphere for me and I love it! Looking at that photo I can even get the smell...especially with it being fresh after some rain that came down.

I thought you were going another direction with Monday Blues. I recently retired so Monday isn't back to work. Takes some adjustment to put structure back in life when the office doesn't call you in on Monday. Its why you retire but have to put a new purpose in your life to fill that void.
I can see how that first one could make some think of shore leave :)
Welcome to retirement, I am two years into retirement now and yes having a purpose, Hobby or goals is very important when One retires I feel, for me it give sme more time to get out and about and enjoy photography

I got this by accident, I don't know what in my new phone decided to take about 6 images of the same subject, one of them being B&W.

So to compare, here's the one right after it
My JOB as a CNA when I had one, was such that I dreaded going to work no matter what day it was, so that doesn't apply as a Monday Blues, and many of my ♫♪Music♫♪ Jobs were on Monday, and I generally looked forward to those.

Wow! That first shot hit me full impact. I loved the effect those leading lines had on pulling the shot together. I had no choice but to come here and see the rest.
The pink was unusual, but, I cannot help loving the joy it gives me just looking at it and well. I love fog or a little mist. Ditto the third.

I really like the perspective of that first photo! Too neat.
Finishing up those mundane tasks on a Friday is a really good idea. I wish I had thought of that several years ago when it was an issue. Now my work is all week based; we plan the week on Monday and do our best to finish it by Friday, so every Monday is a fresh start as is. Seems to work nice.

To me a work ethic varies from person to person but I like your advice about doing the Friday tasks on Friday. I too loved my work and just cleared my desk, made the calls and met with whoever regardless of the day of the week. Do I miss my work? Yes and no is my answer but I was ready to retire even though I was tapped on the shoulder with the offer of a redundancy. Another step in life was meant to be taken when it happened.
Really love the second photo, the colour is very pretty.
I get thoughtful as well and like to write these style posts now and then, they just tend to evolve too.

I to loved my work, but things started changing and it wasnt quite the same, luckily as that happened i was in a position to be able to retire,
