Some cool old buildings in Fairhaven MA
Good Morning
This post is a follow on from my Wednesday walk post the other day where i mentioned they had some cool old buildings and I will share some of them in this post
Starting with this what I thought was a church, I looked for a sign to see what church it was but did not see anything which I found strange.

but when perparing this post i did some searchign online and found out indeed it was a chuch, a former Methodist church built in 1841, but it has now been transformed into a stunning house. The property boasts three floors, a commercial-grade elevator, and an unfinished space that was once the church's function hall., bet it must look pretyt nice inside
you can see it still has the chrch signboard outside but it is blank and I now know why
Next up is the Fairhaven Town Hall

The brick and stone High Victorian Gothic hall was designed by Charles Brigham and built in 1892. It was given to the town by Henry Huttleston Rogers, who also made other significant contributions to the town, including the library. The building's granite trim elements were quarried in St. George, New Brunswick and Red Beach, Maine
I will share more shots of it in a future post, the same for most of the other buildings in this post
and next up we have the Millicent lIbrary building

it was was donated to the town by the family of Millicent Gifford Rogers, the youngest daughter of Abbie Gifford and wealthy industrialist Henry Huttleston Rogers. Young Millicent had died of heart failure in 1890 when she was barely seventeen years old. The library was dedicated on January 30, 1893. It was designed by Charles Brigham in the Richardsonian Romanesque style.
next up we have the confressional church, designed by architect Minard Lafever, was built in 1845

next up we have the Unitarian Memorial Church in Fairhaven Massachusetts, it was built, financed and donated to the Unitarians in 1904 by Henry H. Rogers in memory of his mother, Mary Eldredge Huttleston. The architects Brigham, Coveney and Bisbee of Boston designed this church in the 15th century Gothic perpendicular style

Millicent Library’s story is kinda bittersweet, but it’s awesome that her memory lives on through such a beautiful building. Makes me want to visit Fairhaven someday and see them in person
yes indeed bittwersweet but a wonderful way to honor her memory

Old churches always have such cool architecture.
!pimp
ohh yes without a doubt
I really like that last one, what a cool building! The church converted into a church is pretty cool too. How would you like to live in an old church? The maintenance or the property would be a nightmare I bet! Be careful with that shoulder...
OHh yeah the churchmust be so cool to convert into a private property but hell to maintain
doing muy best to be careful with my shoulder
funny story with my shoulder yesterday I had some shelves installed to display my kits I am building, once they were done I decided to move one of the kits I recently built the steam punk trading house the biggest one so far to see if the seperation of the shelves was good, moved it onto the shelf fine, but decided to move it back to the table where I will take some photos of it before settign up the display, I reached up, gently grabbed the build, but as I lifted it up my shoulder spasmed, and instead of a build i had 2600+ pieces all over the floor
well i had fun building it will have fun doing it again LOL
Oh that is funny! Funny how those little injuries can flare up when you least expect them to. Now you good a whole rebuild, so twice the fun I suppose!
yeah got to look st the positive and say it was fun lets do it again LOL
and wait till my shoulder is better before I put any kits on the top shelf lOL
