Soon the pleasure craft and yachts will be back in the water as Spring takes hold

Over winter most of the Yachts and pleasure craft are taken out of the water and stored away on land so the marinas are mostly deserted, and i must say to me they look kind of sad empty.

But with the weather warming up soon they will be returning to the water, and thinking of that this morning I looked through my unposted images from last year and selected some to share in this post.
These images are taken at various times during spring and summer and in a few different locations.
Starting with this sunrise image taken on Popes Island a nice sky in the background, and some real nice boats tied up at the marina.

I think this image was taken from on the docks behind the Sea Streak terminal looking towards the swing Truss Bridge, but focusing on a couple of yachts

To be honest I cannot remember where i took this one, but a couple of nice yachts and a private fishing boat I do believe

Quite a mix of Boats in this next image, including a catamaran, yachts, with commercial fishing boats and a couple of larger boats docked in the background

I like the shot with the pleasure crafts moored in the harbour and the fishing boats in background. It didn't occur to me that the reason there were only fishing and workboats in your pictures this winter was that the pleasure craft were taken out of the water in the offseason. Haha. Sometimes we miss the obvious. 🤦‍♂️ I noticed a few docks going back in the water at the local lake and saw a few perch swimming in the shallows.

Thanks for your feedback, I did some some movement in the water on my last walk which I gather was fish returning so am sure I will see fishermen on the docks again soon

I'd like to have a yacht. A yacht would be fun. Alas, I don't even have a canoe.

The same with me, aand also not even a canoe, mind you my wife has a fear of being out on a boat so a yacht wouldnt be a good idea for me

Wow!! Good morning to you! These colors are such a welcoming sight! It is as if the blanket of winter has been lifted and this is what is left behind.

I know they are taken at various times of the season, but, they are what I dream of. I have to say the first and second to last shots are perfection, although I may lean toward the second to last. The colors evoke a certain sense of warmth.

I see an outstretched hand in that first image, the clouds. Maybe, the hand of spring reaching forth to lay claim to the moment, to show winter its time is done, for a while at least.
