The pier at the fort

The pier at the fort

Good Morning, I hope your week is going well

Today I am going to share a few shots of what I call the pier at Fort Taber here in New Bedford MA, the fort is a spot I often visit, whether to walk around the old fort there, do some light painting before the sun starts to rise, or catch the sunrise from on the beach inthe park, but whenever i am there I always end up[ taking shots of the pier so have plenty of shots of it and picked a few from various walks over the last year to share today.

Starting with a view I seldom stop and take a shot of, as I walk from the var park towards the beach, I normally walk right by this spot onto the beach before I setup my camera and tripod, but this morning when I took this shot I had been taking shots of the fort, and as I was walking to the beahc stopped to take this shot

The pier off to the right, and the lights of New Bedford and East Beach off to the left

And now one from on the beach, a spot I find so calming inthe early morning,, often very few people there, maybe soem fishing at the end of the pier, but it so quiet and peaceful and the counds of the waves rolling in is so calming for me

Standing on the pier and looking out on it, now strictly speaking is it a pier, I'm not sure so I looked it up

a platform supported on pillars or girders leading out from the shore into a body of water, used as a landing stage for boats.

Well since boats do not tie up to it I guess its not a pier, maybe a walkway is a better name for it, but to be honest I still think of it as a Pier

Back down by the beach looking over the grass

And a lst shot again from a spot I do not often stop to take a shot, up on the walkway into the park

New BEdford seems like a real wonderful place to live. There seems to be so much to take in and enjoy based on all the photos you share. I really enjoy them and it.

Wow! This is beautiful!! And I can see what you mean that it has a calming effect on you! I think it would be the same for me.

I agree with you. I would also call that a pier. Why I am saying this is that I have shared some photos of the Whalebone Pier we have here in Umhlanga and that is it's official name, and it definitely is not used as a landing place for any boats.

Thanks for sharing these photos with us!

It sure came out nice for the unusual point you set it up! I really like the first two with the morning blue, it looks like it was a gorgeous morning!
