Interesting about cruise ships, I know many locals cannot stand them. I remember last year going back to the Orkney Islands where I grew up. The whole population is only 20k and when the two daily cruise ships land their passengers the population goes up by 50% and the capital town gets doubled in size and the locals cannot breathe for tourists. But yes they bring money, but at the same time ruined the magnificent 5000 year old archaeological sites.
As for politics and war, politicians are all corrupt egotistical arses.
All I know if an invading country tried to invade my country then damn right I would fight them.
Big hugs and have a beer for me!
I understand.
But Cuba has no industry... we have a good climate, the countryside and also a lot of tricky mechanisms that prevent farmers from progressing, as well as shortages... in the midst of so much chaos there are people who take advantage and then the middlemen appear and everything becomes even more expensive. Then we are left with the tourist sector because we have a lot of sun and beaches... in short, the situation is complicated here.
I think that since the pandemic, the tourism sector here is at rock bottom. How does this country survive? Many of those who had rental houses, for example, had to give up their licenses. And so... this is a never-ending story.
Wars only enrich those who are in the arms industry and those who provoke them, playing dirty games to obtain geopolitical benefits and even to steal resources because they already lack them due to so much exploitation and so much consumerism.
I am a pacifist.
Yes, I'll drink my beer tomorrow. Lol.
Hope you are well and thanks for stopping by! Big hugs.
Yes it is not so good. You have the weather, which counts for so much. Here we are in SAD season and only yesterday another person took their own life here in our town. Winter is so depresssing, never underestimate the power of the sun.
Enjoy that beer I shall have one later too!
That's what I did as soon as I woke up today: I went out with my cup of coffee to sunbathe among my plants.
How sad what you are telling me. I'm sorry, very sorry.
We humans always have a tendency to dissatisfaction. I think the problem is not what is outside, but what we carry inside.
