While out on this night of exploring, we got stopped at a lift bridge in Welland Ontario. With a 16 minute wait time, I decided to utilize that time with some long exposure shots!
The Welland Canal has a huge volume of large container ships that pass through it, and I had never done light trail shots of a ship before. Nor had done light trail shots of a lift bridge lowering. So this was a great chance to try some new things.
Then on the way home we stopped to check out the view from the Niagara escarpment, of Stoney Creek and Hamilton Ont. with a nice fog rolling in.
The long shutter speed makes spectacular shots. Unfortunately, there is no such mode on the smartphone.
