- as for Sweden, I lived there for 4½ years, back in the sixties. I assume by this time you are there already. I have nothing but good memories from those years - actually until just the recent decade, the only time I felt really free! I was there just at the time they switched to right-side driving. But unlike the UK, the Swedes always drove regular cars, so were used to driving next to the curb while they were still left driving. Once the switch came, some sort of freaked driving next to the middle line. Lots of accidents, particularly on narrow country roads. Loved the girls, in those days they were so helpful to this 'clumsy' foreigner, trying to skate (I knew how, but enjoyed the attention). You will love the long days, when it barely gets dark at all. But come August, it gets already a bit cooler.
