Hey guys…. This time I will share my experience about a tree that rots due to cutting, actually it is trivial but interesting for us to discuss, what causes wood to rot!!!
At first I saw this log when I wanted to enter the office building, but in the front yard of the office my eyes were distracted by a tree trunk that had been cut down for a long time, but the change in the trunk from the beginning until it became rotten made me take some photos and share them in my writing this time.
Weathered wood will experience changes in the structure that was strong and sturdy to become brittle and prone to damage. This condition usually arises as a result of you placing the wood in the wrong place or not taking care of it properly.
The following are some of the main causes of wood rotting, including:
~Humidity
The main cause of weathering in wood is air conditions that have high humidity levels. Air containing water vapor with levels of more than 30 percent will trigger weathering. The particles that make up wood will easily change in places where conditions are wet.
~Mold
Fungal spores that have stuck to the surface of the wood will then undergo a germination process when the air temperature around it is warm enough. Then these sprouts will grow into mushrooms.
The root of the fungus then penetrates into the pores of the wood and secretes enzymes to make the structure weathered. Thus, it will be easier for the fungus to get its food in the form of substances contained in the wood.
Mushrooms need 4 basic conditions to make them survive, namely:
- Air that has a minimum oxygen content of 20 percent
- Sufficient amount of water to meet their needs
- The right temperature ranges from 21-32 degrees celsius
- There is enough food in the host, in this case wood
So those are some of the reasons why a wood can become weathered.
That's my short article about weathered wood, hopefully it's useful guys...
