Journey with me as we visit one of the hidden gem of Misamis Oriental dubbed as Evergreen Mountain of the North Mindanao.
I wish to introduce you to Mt. Ragong one of the hidden treasure of Misamis Oriental.
Mt. Ragong is located in the far-flung area of the Municipality of Lagonglong.
It is a 4 hours butt cracking single motor ride going uphill and downhill to the last village called kamansi. The single motor ride is perilous and not advisable for faint hearted people. As soon as you reach last village you will be doing river trekking for almost an hour mastering your knees and legs in traversing the river beds.
After surpassing the death defying river crossing you will be trekking technically slopes that will make your knees jelly and make your heart pump so fast.
In order to reach the summit you need to endure around 6 to 7 hours hike. But sadly my friends we weren't able to set our foot in the summit due to the on going operation of the Philippines army seizing the militants and rebel groups who are hiding in the mountainous areas of Lagonglong.
Sad and disappointed we went back to our old trail with heavy heart. But the views and the scenery is enough to cheer our spirits as we head back to the modern civilization.

Hang ganda talaga pala dyan, hang daming nature treasure ang Mindanao...not common sa mga tourista. Yon nga lang din, iwas sa mga insurgence.
Sobrang ganda talaga ng Mindanao ate. Hindi masyado na highlight kasi lagi na promote ay land of war and conflict. At isa ito sa advocacy ko na e promote ang Mindanao.
