I hope you are doing well and are safe at this extraordinary time.
Summer or dry season is knocking at our doorstep and the scorching heat makes us sweat heavily now a days. To remedy this agonising feeling, automatically we think of having a cold drinks or having a cold shower or bathing in a cold natural water.
With this in mind let's head to a place the will surely answer our burning feeling. Ladies and gentlemen let's head to "Tinago Falls".
Insights and Info about Tinago Falls.
Tinago Falls is one of the twenty three waterfalls of Iligan City dubbed as City of Waterfalls. And Tinago Falls is one of its majestic waterfalls in the province.
Tinago Falls is the natural boundary of Iligan City and the first municipality of Lanao Del Norte which is Linamon.
Tinago Falls water source comes from two contributaries; one comes from the man-made Lanao lake from the small town of Baloi which is part of Lanao Del Sur province and then second one comes from the lush watershed of Mount Piapayungan or Mount Ragang.
Trivia
The name "Tinago" is a tagalog word which means "Hidden". But it's native settlers from the past named is "bidyar'am" which home of the water diety. But northern island "Tagalog Tribe" explored it in the 80's and coined it as "Tinago" for the reason its quite hidden in deep narrow stepped area only accessible by 500 steps staircase which is now paved and cemented unlike before which is muddly and slippery.
As soon as we pack our bags lets head out to Tinago Falls.
How to reach Tinago Falls.
If we originate from Cagayan de Oro City. We have two option.
One (1) take a bus from Cagayan de Oro City bulua terminal (East terminal) and ride a bus heading to iligan City. Its a two hour bus ride from Cagayan de Oro City to iligan city. You will be entertained by amazing coastal view in the right side of the bus and splendid mountainous and county vibes in the left side of the bus. Upon arriving iligan city. We will be taking a jeepney heading to buru-un which will take us around 15-20 minutes travel time. We will be entertained by busy city life with rich cultures of tripartite tribes (Christians, Indigenous People, and Moro). As soon as we reach Buru-un, we will take a single motorcycle heading to the entry point of the Tinago Falls which will take us around 30-40 minutes.
Two (2)take a bus from Cagayan de Oro City bulua terminal (East terminal) and ride a bus heading to Pagadian City. Inform the conductor and driver you will be stopping by at small town in linamon. It will be two hours and 30 minutes ride. Upon the arriving the linamon. We will take a single motorcycle to the entry point, and it will take us around 30 minutes to reach the registration area of the Tinago Falls.
Once we reach the entry point and written down the registration form. We will be starting our downhill descend from the 500 steps staircase.
As you reach the 300 steps we will be hearing the roaring sound of the falls. By the time we reach the 100 steps, we will be avail to see the majestic Tinago Falls.

Actually, maraming inland resort rin dito. All natural spring water from Mount Canlaon. Ang weather condition is like Marawi too that's why I like it here.
