The hanging white clusters, commonly referred to as clouds, were a sight to behold during my flight from Jakarta to Aceh last month. I had planned to capture the view of the cloudscape by checking into the plane early to secure a window seat. This natural phenomenon was immortalized throughout the journey, from take-off to landing, over approximately 2.5 hours. I was able to capture a variety of cloud formations, their dance in the sky a testament to nature’s artistry. Flying above the clouds is a unique perspective possessed by birds and often experienced by pilots.
I’m sharing these photoshoots with you here. I hope you find it pleasing, the first picture is one of my favorites.
During the flight, I found a way to turn a boring trip into something worthwhile through photography. Unexpectedly the plane was about to land, and the flight attendant announced over the loudspeaker that the plane was about to land, it sounded more or less like this:
“Ladies and Gentlemen. We will soon be landing at Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport. Please ensure your seat is in the upright position, your tray table has been stowed away, and your seat belt is fastened. Thank you for choosing to fly with Garuda Indonesia today. We hope you have a pleasant flight.”
The photoshoot below is the coastline of Aceh Besar, specifically for Pedir Point cape.
Just before landing at Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport, I captured the peak of Mount Seulawah Agam through a gap in the clouds. The volcano is one of the natural landmarks in Aceh.
