Hello friends!
Matadeiros beach is located in the south of Santa Catarina island.
Separated from Armação beach by the Sangradouro river, it gets its name because it was the place where fishermen used to kill whales to extract the fat from to make oil used for lighting and construction.
The beach can only be accessed by a small bridge that crosses the river and continues along a trail of no more than 500 meters.
The place is very popular with surfers on days with a southerly wind that favors the formation of waves.
In the summer it is crowded with tourists who enjoy the clear sea and the various bars that offer seafood dishes, as well as live music.
Taken over the weekend, today's photos try to show a little of the beauty of the place.

Olá amigos!
A praia de Matadeiros está localizada no sul da ilha de Santa Catarina.
Separada da praia da Armação pelo rio Sangradouro, leva este nome já que ali era o local onde os antigos pescadores matavam as baleias das quais extraiam a gordura para fazer o óleo utilizado na iluminação e na construção.
A praia só tem acesso por uma pequena ponte que atravessa o rio e continuando por uma trilha de no mais de 500 metros.
O local é muito procurado por surfistas nos dias de vento sul que favorece a formação de ondas.
No verão fica lotada de turistas que aproveitam o mar transparente e os vários barzinhos que oferecem pratos à base de frutos do mar, assim como som ao vivo.
Feitas no fim de semana, as fotos de hoje tentam mostrar um pouco da beleza do local.
