My Antarctic friends#2 - Penguins

I have the impression that the topics of the posts interest you and that you would like to learn more. It makes me very happy.
Today I would like to continue the series of posts and introduce you to more inhabitants of Antarctica. This time it's about birds, but not the usual ones. Birds that can not fly, although often during the observation, it would seem that they want to take to the skies with all their might.

Let me introduce you to my next Antarctic friends - Penguins.
The presence of these animals was almost guaranteed every day.
Moreover, some colonies were located near the station, which made unique observations possible.

Przedstawiam wam moich kolejnych Antarktycznych przyjaciół - Pingwiny.
To zwierzęta, na których obecność można było liczyć dosłownie codziennie, a część koloni znajdywała się w bliskim sądziedztwie stacji, co umożliwiało ciekawe obserwacje.

There are some penguins that are regulars around the station, but not all. Can you guess which species is a rarity on King George Island?

Część z tych pingwinów to stali bywalce okolic stacji, ale nie wszystkie. Czy zgadniecie, który gatunek to rzadkość na Wyspie Króla Jerzego?

Hi @wildscaper,
Great to see you using the #travelfeed tag! We launched the #travelfeed curated tag more than 3 years ago and have been supporting the best travel blogs on Hive ever since. But did you know that TravelFeed has evolved? Based on the feedback of thousands of Hive travel bloggers we created TravelFeed.io.

TravelFeed.io brings together all the benefits of Hive decentralized blogging with features that you as a travel blogger will love: Photo galleries, Instagram embeds, custom maps and more. We also offer many of the features you love on Peakd such as drafts and post scheduling. And if you want, you can even use our easy site builder to set up your own travel blog on your own domain which can be a great way to generate a passive income from your blog!

Unfortunately, focussing on developing the best platform for travelers means that we no longer curate the #travelfeed tag. But, you can log in with your Hive account on TravelFeed.io to publish your next travel post, and it will be posted to Hive automatically! Every day, we select the best posts and reward them with an upvote and added visibility.

We would love to see you on TravelFeed.io soon :)

It looks like you had some great company out there 🙌 Were they easy to approach?

Please keep these coming :)

It depends. Animals here don't see humans as much of a threat as in other places on earth. Sometimes they are the ones who indicate contact.

Nice :) What was your most memorable penguin moment?

When one of them first was a bit afraid first because I was close to colony, and it was time of breeding. After a few minutes of observation, came closer and took a rock from my hand.

Wow, that took a lot of trust :) Incredible!!!

There are even more than just this 4 species. In total are 18 species of penguins:)

Very impressive...I am definitely curious what else you are going to share with us:)
